Dominique Robertson Files Complaint Against Police: Latest Details and Comments
Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive guard Dominique Robertson filed an official complaint through his attorney against the Riverside County, California, Sheriff's Department, per Jenna Laine of ESPN.com.
Robertson's attorney, Zulu Ali, provided a statement: "We were terribly concerned about Mr. Robertson's welfare and the blatant disregard for his rights, health and safety. Not allowing his attorney access to check on his welfare, and denying him water, medication and access to medical attention was abuse on the part of the Sheriff's department."
Police questioned Robertson after he was shot on June 30 in Loma Linda, California.

According to Alex Groves, John M. Blodgett and Craig Shultz of the Press Enterprise, officers from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department responded to the Loma Linda University Medical Center, where Robertson was being treated for gunshot wounds to his back, buttocks and leg.
Officers examined the scene at which Robertson said he was shot and found no evidence. They also conducted interviews with local neighbors, none of whom reported hearing gunshots.
After he was released from the hospital on July 1, Riverside authorities detained him. Ali claims officers took Robertson's water and inhaler, per Laine.
"My primary issue is trying to get to the bottom of why he was detained and denied a right to speak with his attorney," Ali said, per the Press Enterprise.
The Press Enterprise report also noted Riverside sheriffs wouldn't have jurisdiction on a case that occurred in San Bernardino County.
According to Paine, Robertson expects to make a full recovery and report to the Buccaneers' training camp on July 25.
