Dashon Goldson to Falcons: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction
Safety Dashon Goldson's stay on the open market is over, as he agreed to a contract with the Atlanta Falcons, the team announced Sunday. NFL Network's Rand Getlin reported that Goldson signed a one-year deal.
The Falcons needed depth at safety after rookie Keanu Neal's minor knee surgery Monday. Even with Goldson, who the Washington Redskins released after one season to create cap space, Kemal Ishmael is entrenched as the starter in Atlanta.
Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins told Anthony Gulizia of the Washington Times this in January regarding Goldson's leadership: "Dashon Goldson has been a great leader for us all season long. You can tell he's been a part of teams that have won and won consistently. He's been a great personality in our locker room to help from that standpoint, and he's been a great leader for us."

He made the Pro Bowl in 2011 and 2012 with the San Francisco 49ers, who drafted him in the fourth round out of Washington in 2007. He played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013 and 2014.
