Fantasy Football Week 14: Big Board and Advice for 'Monday Night Football'
Closing out the first week of the fantasy football playoffs, the New York Giants are on the road to take on the Miami Dolphins.
Although playoff hopes are all but squashed in Miami, the Giants will be gridlocked in a three-way tie in the NFC East if they defeat the Dolphins.
This game features quite a few fantasy-relevant players, headlined by Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The Dolphins are a two-point home underdog, according to Odds Shark.
It's safe to say that 2015 has been a disappointment for the Dolphins, who were picked by some to win the AFC East heading into the year.
At this point they're playing for pride, and this week the Dolphins will gain more.
I'm taking them to win in a mini upset, 24-20.

Quarterbacks
3 of 9
New York Giants: Eli Manning
Over his last three games, Giants quarterback Eli Manning is tied for 24th in points per dropback among quarterbacks at 0.40.
The Dolphins are fairly generous to opposing quarterbacks, giving up the 11th-most fantasy points to the position. Additionally, the Dolphins allow over 270 passing yards per game.
Manning is tied for the QB11 spot this year, and he should maintain that pace on the road this week.
Oh, and anytime you have wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., it makes your job that much easier.
Projections: 260 passing yards, 2 TDs
Miami Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill
Through 12 games this year, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has thrown multiple interceptions in four of them.
That's not very good.
Tannehill also has just a single three-touchdown game, and one four-touchdown performance, in addition to four 300-plus-yard games.
The Giants allow the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, and Tannehill should be able to use that to his advantage.
Projections: 270 passing yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT
Running Backs
4 of 9
New York Giants: Shane Vereen
The Giants backfield is a mess.
For example, in Week 13, the four-headed monster of running backs Shane Vereen, Rashad Jennings, Orleans Darkwa, and Andre Williams had 20, 18, 16, and 14 snaps, respectively.
Yikes.
Vereen's receiving ability offers some additional upside, although he's caught more than four passes just three times.
Projections: 30 rushing yards; 3 receptions, 30 receiving yards
Miami Dolphins Starter: Lamar Miller
When Dolphins running back Lamar Miller has carried the ball 14 or more times in a game, he has gone over 100 yards rushing in every game except for one (Week 10).
Week 13 allowed for Miller's most carries in a game this season at 20.
Without a rushing touchdown since Week 9, that streak ends for Miller in Week 14.
Projections: 100 rushing yards, 1 TD; 2 receptions, 20 receiving yards
Wide Receivers
5 of 9
New York Giants: Odell Beckham Jr.
Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is really, really, really good.
I'll throw in a stat to corroborate everything you already know: Beckham Jr. has 10-plus targets in each of the last four weeks.
Projections: 10 receptions, 120 receiving yards, 2 TDs.
Miami Dolphins: Jarvis Landry
Through 13 weeks of the 2015 NFL season, Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry is the WR13 in points-per-reception formats.
In addition to that, Landry has the seventh-most receptions among wide receivers with 79.
However, Landry has gone over 100 yards receiving on just two occasions this season.
As long as he gets catches, Landry is a must-start if you're in a PPR league.
Projections: 7 receptions, 65 receiving yards, 1 TD
Miami Dolphins: DeVante Parker
No Rishard Matthews? No problem!
Dolphins rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker has made quite the impression over his last two games.
In those games, Parker has caught a touchdown in each.
In addition, Parker has an impressive yards-per-catch average in those two games with 20.0 and 21.0-yard averages, respectively.
Parker will keep it up in Week 14.
Projections: 4 receptions, 60 receiving yards, 1 TD
Tight Ends
6 of 9
New York Giants Starter: Will Tye
With fellow tight end Larry Donnell now done for the season, Giants rookie Will Tye will take over as the team's primary tight end.
Over his last three games, Tye has gone over 50 yards receiving in all of them.
Tye is a middle-of-the-road TE1 on Monday Night Football.
Projections: 4 receptions, 45 receiving yards
Miami Dolphins Starter: Jordan Cameron
Dolphins tight end Jordan Cameron has not had over four receptions in a game since Week 1.
Cameron has not gone over 35 yards receiving in a game since Week 2.
Cameron is not good.
Projections: 2 receptions, 15 receiving yards
Defense/Special Teams
7 of 9
New York Giants Defense/Special Teams
Although the Giants have a top-10 fantasy unit, the stats are skewed a bit.
The Giants allow the most passing yards per game at just over 321.
What skews their ranking is that they are tied for second in the league with four defensive touchdowns, and have a punt and kick return touchdown as well.
The Giants are a decent option in Week 14, but nothing to go crazy about.
Projections: 24 points allowed, 3 sacks, 1 INT
Miami Dolphins Defense/Special Teams
Led by safety Reshad Jones, the Dolphins defensive unit is a borderline desperation play in Week 14.
Projections: 20 points allowed, 3 sacks.
Best Sleeper Add
8 of 9
DeVante Parker, WR, Miami Dolphins (Owned in 47.8 percent of ESPN Leagues)
As long as fellow Dolphins wide receiver Rishard Matthews is out, DeVante Parker needs to be owned in all leagues.
Coming off touchdowns in back-to-back games, Parker is vertical threat for Tannehill.
Start or Sit?
9 of 9
Shane Vereen, RB, New York Giants
With the way the snaps are divvied up among the Giants running backs, it really limits Vereen's value.
Verdict: Sit
DeVante Parker, WR, Miami Dolphins
As long as Rishard Matthews is out, Dolphins rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker is a solid WR3 option.
Coming off a touchdown in each of his last two games, Parker will look to keep that streak alive against a Giants defense that allows over 321 passing yards per game.
Verdict: Start
