NFL Power Rankings: Week 12 Conference Standings and Latest Super Bowl Odds
The pre-Thanksgiving Super Bowl outlook is rather basic if told by Las Vegas—Tom Brady and the New England Patriots will host somebody from the NFC.
It might be Cam Newton's Carolina Panthers despite the stunning lack of weapons around him. The honor might go to the criminally underrated Carson Palmer, who does nothing but win games. It might even be Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
No matter how it plays out, the 2016 Super Bowl odds going into Week 12 at least give hope that the postseason can be an entertaining affair to compensate for a rather lackluster season in which most of the league touts a losing record.

Highlighting Notable Week 12 Odds
Houston Texans (66-1)
Remember the comment above about the season being rather lackluster? This might be the case from an entertainment standpoint, but understand that it creates quite interesting betting scenarios.
Take the Houston Texans. J.J. Watt and Co. sit at just 5-5, but so, too, do the division-leading Indianapolis Colts. Granted, Houston dropped a Week 5 decision to its rivals in 27-20 fashion, but the Texans will get another shot, and it's impossible to know when the Colts will have Andrew Luck back.
Did anyone mention the Texans have rattled off three wins in a row? The second of those was a 10-6 upset of the then-undefeated Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football, followed by an upset of the New York Jets.
Watt's defense has turned it on as of late, holding teams to 17 or fewer points in three consecutive weeks. Both Brian Hoyer and T.J. Yates have picked up wins in that span under center, too.
At this payout, the Texans aren't such a bad bet. Sneaking into the postseason is well within reach, and the team just showed it could shut down a top contender.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (150-1)
One team not getting enough playoff whispers?
Try the 5-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It looks like a dire situation in the NFC South with the Panthers at 10-0 and the Atlanta Falcons at 6-4, but keep in mind Atlanta has lost four of its last five and Tampa Bay took down the Falcons in Week 8.
It's hard to ignore the surging Buccaneers now, especially after rookie quarterback Jameis Winston just tossed five touchdowns in a 45-17 road rout of the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite the growing hype, though, coach Lovie Smith told ESPN.com's Andrew Astleford nothing changes when it comes to his team's approach.
"We won two games in a row, right?" Smith said. "And we're 5-5. It's kind of the same message each week. The message is: We are in the playoff race. We have been. But our message is about that next opponent. All those other things will take care of themselves."
It's hard to ignore the momentum and odds, though. The Buccaneers get a Luck-less Colts team in Week 12, Atlanta and New Orleans teams they have already beat once and down St. Louis and Chicago clubs before a season-ending encounter with Carolina.
If the Buccaneers can keep streaking on an easy slate as Winston continues to develop, Tampa Bay might be the most shocking playoff entrant of the year.
Oakland Raiders (150-1)

Originally, the honor of possible playoff surprise entrant went to the Oakland Raiders.
It might still, but it's going to take the Raiders snapping a three-game skid to get back in the hunt. The Denver Broncos lead the way in the AFC West at 8-2, and now the 5-5 Kansas City Chiefs have passed the 4-6 Raiders, too.
Oakland won four games in six outings to help build hype but laid quite an egg in Detroit last weekend in an 18-13 loss. Coach Jack Del Rio was none too pleased after the fact, as Derek Carr went just 13-of-25 with 169 yards.
“We were not in sync,” Del Rio said, according to ESPN.com's Bill Williamson. “We were not operating the way we expect to operate. … Whether we missed the throw or whether we dropped the ball, (we are) just not firing on all cylinders right now.”
Carr still has 21 touchdowns to six interceptions; it's just a matter of getting back in rhythm with the potent duo of Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree, who each boast more than 50 catches.
The Raiders wrap up the season with games against two-win squads Tennessee and San Diego, dates with Denver and Green Bay and two games against Kansas City. In other words, there's a good chance the Raiders can hit around eight wins while putting the Chiefs down a peg, so don't count them out just yet.
