Thursday Night Football Week 10: TV Schedule, Live Stream for Jets vs. Bills
It seemed to take quite a while, but Rex Ryan will lead his new team against his old one when the Buffalo Bills encounter the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football.
Those in charge of the schedule knew what they were doing, to say the least. Ryan spent years with the Jets, a team now guided by Todd Bowles. In not-so-shocking fashion, both teams share an affinity for hard-nosed football with strong ground games and defenses.
Both teams also share notable injury reports and the thought process that they need to get past one another for a potential shot at the postseason with the New England Patriots running away with the division.

Next Man Up

From an injury standpoint, the Jets are in trouble.
The offensive line is in trouble with center Nick Mangold hobbled, and as the ESPN.com writeup notes, the team just sent guard Willie Colon to injured reserve. It's even uglier on the defensive side of the ball, where notables like Antonio Cromartie, Dion Bailey and Calvin Pryor pop up.
Still, this is a Jets team known for pulling through the injury bug. Last week, the team rallied around quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to halt a two-game skid, upending the Jacksonville Jaguars 28-23 behind his 272 yards and two scores.
Regardless, New York's top two wideouts (Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker) look good to go, and running back Chris Ivory remains a force after rushing for two scores last week. Long story short, the Jets will still be able to play their brand of football.
The only problem? It's Buffalo's brand of football as well, making for a war of wills under the bright national spotlight.
Pounding the Rock
Ryan's Bills know a thing or two about injuries this year, too.
"We have a lot of talent, and unfortunately, we had so many injuries that we haven't necessarily seen them," Ryan said, per ESPN.com. "So let us be healthy and then judge us for who we are."
Last week, the Bills seemed almost at full strength, also snapping a two-game slide with a 33-17 win against the Miami Dolphins. There, quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw for a score, while LeSean McCoy ran for one on the ground and backup Karlos Williams added two.
Running won't be so easy against the Jets, though, seeing as they cough up just 80.6 rushing yards per game, the best mark in the league (Buffalo isn't far behind at 93.6). To make matters worse, McCoy's dealing with a nagging injury and might not make it through the entirety of the game.
With McCoy hobbled, the Bills might be unable to lean on a ground game led by committee members against a defense Ryan helped create. It means more pressure on Taylor to produce in his versatile ways, all the while hoping his wideouts can shake free of Darrelle Revis.
Prediction
This game's storyline might revolve around Ryan, but all he's done this week is stir up talk because he cannot seem to take his attention off the Patriots.
It'll show on the field Thursday.
Injuries will hurt both teams in the divisional showdown, but the guy lost in all the headlines is Fitzpatrick, who also happens to be going against a former team. He's playing great this year, and the Bills won't slow both Marshall and Decker, nor will they have a consistent answer for a healthy Ivory.
This one will come down to the wire, but the Jets, banged up or not, have the better defense and more balanced offense. Blame at least the former on Ryan, as well as the game's result.
Prediction: Jets 27, Bills 24
