Ryan Tannehill Sets NFL Record for Consecutive Completions
The Miami Dolphins were firing on all cylinders in Week 7 against the Houston Texans, with quarterback Ryan Tannehill continuing his stellar play with an NFL-record 25 consecutive completions.
According to the NFL Network's Jeff Darlington, Tannehill's record dated back to last week's victory over the Tennessee Titans, when he finished that game with seven straight completions.
Per ESPN Stats & Info, former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb previously held the record for most consecutive completions with 24, set during the 2004 season.

At the time Tannehill set the record against the Texans, he was 18-of-18 with 282 yards and four touchdowns. He snapped the streak midway through the fourth quarter on a pass attempt to Dion Sims, which would end up being his only misfire in the game.
Afterward, Jeff Darlington of NFL Network joked about a potential punishment for Tannehill:
Tannehill finished with a perfect passer rating, and afterward said: "That's what happens when you get the ball to your playmakers and they do something with it," via Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "I didn't do much."
Getting rid of Joe Philbin as head coach on Oct. 5 appears to have ignited a spark in the Dolphins. They have won each of their past two games by a combined score of 82-36 and were leading the Texans 41-0 at halftime.
Tannehill, in particular, is starting to look like a quarterback who can lead an offense into the postseason, with six touchdowns and two interceptions over the past two games. Week 8 will prove how far he and the team have come, as they travel to New England for a Thursday night showdown with the Patriots.
