Dodgers Ball Boy Tumbles Backward into Stands Trying to Catch Foul Ball

Kyle NewportAug 16, 2015

Javier the Los Angeles Dodgers ball boy tried to make a highlight-reel catch during Sunday's game, but instead, he will likely end up on some blooper reels.

In the top of the fifth inning, Cincinnati Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart sliced a ball down the left-field line. Javier got in position to try to make the catch and jumped for the ball, but he came up empty.

And he tumbled backward over the wall.

He didn't make the catch, but he did receive a nice ovation from the Dodger Stadium crowd.

Concerned, the Reds checked on Javier's status:

The Dodgers let their opponent know that the ball boy was fine:

Shake it off, Javier. There will be other foul balls for you to catch.
