Johnny Manziel Says He Will No Longer Throw Up the 'Money Sign' Celebration
In news sure to shake the foundations of fraternities and e-cigarette parlors across the nation, Johnny Manziel said he will no longer be celebrating plays on the gridiron with his signature "money hands" gesture.
The Cleveland Browns maybe-backup, maybe-starting quarterback dropped the news during a team presser Wednesday, per ProFootballTalk's Michael David Smith.
"The money sign will not be back," Manziel told reporters. "I will not be making it."

Manziel said dropping the sign is part of a larger growing-up process he's undertaking as a person and professional athlete:
"Last year is last year, it was what it was and it was not very good. So for me, I’m trying to close that chapter and just build on what I’ve done so far this year and just move forward, and try to close that chapter in my life. Not one that I’m very proud of, not one that I want to look back on very much and dwell on, that’s for sure.
"
Sounds like the jig's up, gang.
"Money Manziel"—polarizer of a nation, slayer of giants and noted swan jockey—is dead, replaced by a solemn, grave individual talking about moving on from a past that is both successful and pockmarked.
This is sad, in a way.
Not because Manziel shouldn't continue to make lifestyle changes (he should), but because giving up the money sign is like Yasiel Puig swearing off bat flips to appease MLB purists. It's Theon Greyjoy giving in and becoming Reek. The National Football League has Ramsay Bolton'd Jonathan F. Football.
Naturally, the Internet had its take on Manziel's announcement. Some wept. Others rejoiced. Many gave eulogies.
R.I.P., Money Manziel. Your collect cash calls will be missed.
