According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, via Kevin Patra of NFL.com, Manziel attended the team's voluntary conditioning workouts on Monday.

On April 17, Manziel released a statement regarding his time in rehab on the Browns' official site:

"

"I would like to thank my family, friends, the Browns organization, my teammates, and Browns fans everywhere, for your patience, understanding, and support during my stay at Caron. The doctors and staff have been amazing and what I’ve learned in the last couple of months has been tremendous. I owe private apologies to a lot of people that I disappointed but a very public one to the Browns organization and the fans that I let down. I take full responsibility for my actions and it’s my intention to work very hard to regain everyone’s trust and respect. I understand that will take time and will only happen through what I do and not what I say. I also understand there’s a lot of curiosity about this but anyone who has a friend or family-member that’s been through things like this knows it’s an ongoing process. I’m going to continue to ask folks to try to respect my privacy as I determine to what degree I am comfortable talking about a subject which I consider very personal. Most of you have been considerate about that and I thank you for it. I look forward to seeing my teammates next week and focusing on football and my desire to be the best possible player, teammate, and man that I can be.”

"

The 22-year-old signal-caller is in the mix to be the Browns' starting quarterback in 2015 along with veteran Josh McCown, but there are certainly some big-time question marks surrounding him both on and off the field.

If the former Heisman Trophy winner is going to succeed, he has to impress the Cleveland coaches as well as his teammates. According to ESPNCleveland.com's Tony Grossi, Browns Pro Bowl offensive tackle Joe Thomas believes that Manziel made a poor first impression, but he also feels as though the Texas A&M product is moving in the right direction:

"

You know, I think he lost probably a lot of trust among the guys on the team last year by the way he handled himself once he became the starter. And I think he had a lot of time to reflect, I'm guessing, after the season was over by the comments he made in the media and by his actions, checking himself into rehab ... I think those were really positive steps.

"

According to Bleacher Report's Jason Cole, some within the Browns organization have also lost faith in the quarterback's playing abilities:

Browns center Alex Mack, meanwhile, is very optimistic about Manziel's NFL future, per SiriusXM NFL Radio:

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio commented on Manziel's future now that he's out of rehab:

"

From a football perspective, the key for Manziel will be to commit himself fully and completely to football. From a personal perspective, the bigger challenge will be to stay on the path that he started via more than two months in rehab.

"

Manziel made an effort to better himself as a person by checking into rehab, and while it remains to be seen how effective the stint was, it certainly shows growth. He will be looking to redeem himself and prove to the organization that he can be a franchise quarterback after a nightmarish rookie season.

If Manziel is able to make similar strides on the football field, he very well could be under center for the Browns when the 2015 regular season commences.
