Busy Start to 2015 NFL League Year Leads to Twitter Going Crazy
Kyle NewportMar 10, 2015
The 2015 NFL league year began at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday afternoon, and almost immediately, teams engaged in a flurry of moves.
Twitter had a hard time keeping up with all the action.
Despite many big-name free agents reportedly agreeing upon deals during the legal "tampering period" over the past few days, that didn't dull the excitement.
Check out the deals that went down just minutes after 4 p.m. ET:
- The New Orleans Saints traded tight end Jimmy Graham and a fourth-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for center Max Unger and a first-round pick, via Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.
- The Baltimore Ravens traded defensive tackle Haloti Ngata to the Detroit Lions, via the Ravens' official Twitter account.
- The St. Louis Rams traded quarterback Sam Bradford to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for quarterback Nick Foles and draft pick(s), via ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
Plenty of free agents officially signed upon the beginning of the new league year as well, but the moves above seemingly came together out of nowhere and went down in a hurry.
Seeing big names moved like this is something that happens in Major League Baseball, not in the NFL. All of these huge deals naturally had Twitter buzzing:
