Rolando McClain House Fire Ruled as Arson: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction
Alabama State Fire Marshal Ed Paulk ruled the fire that burned down the home of NFL linebacker Rolando McClain to be the result of arson, according to WIAT in Birmingham, Alabama.
Paulk added that authorities have not made any arrests so far and that the investigation to determine the perpetrator remains open.
The fire occurred on Dec. 22 and completely gutted McClain's house, which was up for sale for $1.5 million. The Tuscaloosa News posted a photo of all that was left after firefighters worked to stop the blaze:

Lt. Andy Norris of the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office immediately questioned whether foul play was the cause of the fire.
"Any time you have a vacant house go up, particularly one of that value, you have to consider it suspicious," Norris said at the time, per ESPN.com. "Every house in that neighborhood is probably over $1 million."
The house was located about 14 miles outside of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where McClain went to college and starred with the Alabama Crimson Tide football team.
McClain has played in the NFL for four seasons since the Oakland Raiders drafted him eighth overall in 2010. He appeared in 41 games over three years with the Raiders before signing with the Baltimore Ravens and promptly retiring.
The 25-year-old came out of retirement shortly thereafter and spent the 2014 season with the Dallas Cowboys, making 87 combined tackles in 13 games.
