The Indianapolis Colts have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons this offseason, and that trend continued today as it was revealed that running back Ahmad Bradshaw was arrested and cited for marijuana possession.
According to WISHTV.com, the 28-year-old veteran was pulled over and arrested in Ohio's Preble County on Feb. 5. The former New York Giant was cited for both marijuana possession and following too closely, while his passenger was charged with two counts of drug possession.
This is far from the first headache the Colts organization has suffered this offseason as linebackers Josh McNary, Andrew Jackson and D'Qwell Jackson have all gotten into trouble off the field, per ESPN.com's Mike Wells:
As pointed out by Matt Glenesk of The Indianapolis Star, the hits just keep on coming for the Colts:
Bradshaw has spent the past two seasons in Indy, and he is set to hit free agency this offseason. Before a fractured fibula caused him to miss the final six games of the regular season as well as the playoffs, Bradshaw was enjoying an excellent 2014 campaign.
He racked up 725 total yards and eight touchdowns in just 10 contests. Bradshaw was especially effective in the passing game with 38 receptions.
Bradshaw figured to garner some interest in free agency due to his versatility, but this situation could very well cause the Colts and other NFL teams to rethink their pursuit of him.
