Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb's Post-Week 16 Fantasy Reaction

Timothy RappDec 21, 2014

No wide receiver duo has been more productive than the pair from the Green Bay Packers, and Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb kept the good times rolling against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

While Green Bay's passing game sputtered along for a good portion of the game, somewhat surprisingly, Nelson and Cobb each got theirs, as both players exceed 75 receiving yards on the afternoon. It's the ninth time Nelson has exceeded that mark and the seventh time Cobb has done so.

For owners with their championship game in Week 17, Nelson and Cobb are safe to trust as WR1 options.

For the second week in a row, however, Aaron Rodgers had his struggles from a fantasy perspective, though a fourth-quarter touchdown helped to save his afternoon. For some owners, that may have meant he hindered your championship hopes. For others, you may be hesitant to start him in Week 17, especially against a tough Detroit defense.

Rodgers did have just 10 fantasy points against the Lions in Week 3, after all. Still, fantasy owners are going to have to ask themselves if they truly can find a more compelling option than Rodgers, who has been the best quarterback in the NFL for most of this season.

Chances are, you don't have that player on your roster. Rodgers is a risk this week, no doubt about that, but it's hard to consider him anything less than a low-end QB1.
