Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Casey Janssen had quite a nerve-wracking day on Jan. 28. Most people would be scared out of their minds to go skydiving, but that wasn't enough for the 32-year-old.
Janssen and his girlfriend, Lauren Spear, went skydiving a few weeks ago in California. It turned out to be a very special day that neither one of them will ever forget.
With the help of the skydiving crew and Spear's family, Janssen was able to pull off an epic proposal. As Spear came down to the ground, she could see the whole thing coming:
Obviously she said yes.
Here's what the closer had to say on how he was able to pull it off, via the National Post's John Lott:
It was as smooth as it could be. Lauren was a minute and a half after me. She landed pretty much right in front of me, and I was on my knee proposing.
So she had no idea anything was going to happen. But it was great because her family was able to share the moment.
Janssen has set the bar high for all future proposals. After we saw Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Alex Cobb use a dolphin to propose to his girlfriend, we have to give MLB players a lot of credit for their epic proposals.
