Kate Upton Dissed Justin Verlander with Frank Viola III Birthday Tweet
When it comes to Kate Upton and Tigers ace Justin Verlander, we have grown accustomed to reading between the lines, even as their alleged relationship sours.
Yahoo! Sports' David Brown reports on a kind birthday wish that speaks volumes to how Upton might feel about her once rumored baseball beau.
Brown spotted the following tweet from Upton, featuring a snarky eCard that mentions a mutual pal.

As reported, the original tweet has been deleted and replaced with this:
Now for the backstory that should clear up at least some of the confusion. As Brown informs, Viola III—son of former pitcher and World Series champion, Frank Viola—is great friends with Verlander.
With that, an enigmatic eCard makes far more sense with a very clear slight on someone close to Viola. As we have done so many times in the past year with these two, we take a giant leap to assume this involves the Tigers pitcher.
No worries, because we are used to filling in the gaps of what may have been a romantic relationship or nothing more than a passing friendship.
Last summer, It's Always Sunny in Detroit spotted Upton cheering on Verlander and the Tigers from a suite, and the nation proclaimed, "Well, that's interesting."
Then, in January, the New York Post reported the two vacationed at the Ritz-Carlton on St. Thomas, giving us all the evidence we needed to freak out and call these two a couple.
While neither would publicly admit to the romance, we finally received some confirmation of sorts on Valentine's Day when Fox 2's Jason Carr interviewed the model, who admitted to being single.
So, we have gone from a rumored romance to an alleged slight on social media. Somehow, that is perfect for these two.
