Fantasy Football: 4 Must-Add FAs to Start in Week 14 for Championship Run
After a grueling fantasy season full of the unexpected, the playoffs and league championship are right around the corner. It is now time to make final adjustments to your squad and solidify your roster for the end of the fantasy season.
Depending on the settings of your fantasy football league, there are either one or two weeks remaining until the postseason begins. Whether you are entered in a competitive league for money or simply playing for bragging rights with some coworkers or friends, it is time to make a push for not only the playoffs, but the championship.
So far the 2012-13 NFL season has been extremely exhausting and frustrating for fantasy owners when it comes to choosing the most efficient and consistent players off of the waiver wire and free agency. Believe it or not, there is a still considerable amount of valuable free-agent talent available at all positions.
From the young stud breakout Colin Kaepernick to the reliable veteran TE Marcedes Lewis, there are a bevy of productive fantasy playmakers still out in free agency that can electrify your lineup. The following four players will have outstanding performances in Week 14, may just save your season and quite possibly even win you a championship.
TE Marcedes Lewis, Jacksonville Jaguars
With Chad Henne under center, Marcedes Lewis has seen considerably increased involvement in the Jaguars offense, and you can expect that to continue with the inconsistencies that Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts have shown throughout the season. Lewis is a large, consistent and reliable target that Henne can really count on to catch the ball when he finds himself in a tricky situation.
In Week 14 the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the New York Jets, who happen to give up the 10th most fantasy points to tight ends so far this season. There are only two tight ends that have recorded over 13 fantasy points against the Jets so far this season, and they have been Owen Daniels of the Houston Texans and Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots.
Lewis has a game similar to that of Daniels and Gronkowski because of his physicality, athleticism, heart and the fact that he's a frightening force in the end zone. Lewis hasn't quite become the star he was expected to form into; however, as he builds chemistry with Henne it seems as if the seven-year UCLA product will have a productive fantasy season.
If in need of a tight end, Lewis isn't only a great free agent to add, but you should also start him this week. I expect Lewis to have a breakout game against a New York Jets team that is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.

Week 13 Stats: Four receptions off eight targets for 68 yards
Week 14 Opponent: New York Jets (5-7)
WR Golden Tate, Seattle Seahawks
In what has been his breakout season, Golden Tate continues to prove that he belongs in the National Football League. Scoring four touchdowns in his last for outings, Tate is a tough speedy receiver who has a chance to reach the end zone every time he touches the ball.
Tate has been a reliable and productive threat the past few weeks, recording over 15.50 fantasy points in three of his past four games. Only owned by 41 percent of Yahoo! fantasy teams, the Notre Dame alum is a perfect fit for the empty gap on your roster.

Week 13 Stats: Five receptions off six targets for 96 yards and one touchdown
Week 14 Opponent: Arizona Cardinals(4-8)
RB Vick Ballard, Indianapolis Colts
The young gun Vick Ballard has continually earned more playing time, touches and respect from teammates throughout the season. Not only has Ballard been effective on the ground while not seeing many carries, but he has also exhibited good hands when Andrew Luck has called upon him.
With Donald Brown officially ruled out of the lineup for this Sunday, Ballard is a fantastic add and an even better start in Week 14. The Colts' upcoming game against the Tennessee Titans couldn't have been a better trial game for Ballard to prove what he can do when given a significant role in the Indianapolis offense for the first time.
Coming off of a 12.20 Yahoo! fantasy-point week against the Detroit Lions, Ballard could easily nearly double that total in Week 14 against a horrid Tennessee Titans team.

Week 13 Stats: Nine rushing attempts for 41 yards and one touchdown, along with three receptions for 21 yards
Week 14 Opponent: Tennessee Titans(4-8)
QB Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers
Since grasping the reins at quarterback, Colin Kaepernick has been exhilarating to watch and quite successful for his team. Above all, he has been an amazing fantasy football quarterback to own if you have been experiencing difficulties at the position.
Good news. He is currently owned by only 52 percent of Yahoo! fantasy teams and is more than likely available for you to add in your very own league as well.
If you are a desperate fantasy football owner in need of a productive quarterback, then look no further. Kaepernick is a safe pick to have at quarterback who could possibly help lead your team to your league championship.
In three of his last four games Kaepernick has recorded over 17.25 fantasy points. His offensive freedom and fantasy numbers will only increase as his coaching staff continues to see results.
There is still more to come from Kaepernick. Do not for a second think that this man is a short-lived fluke. From a very solid arm to his extreme athleticism, Kaepernick is and will continue to be a nightmare for opposing defenses.
