Consider Ben Volin of The Palm Beach Post a believer that Tannehill will start Sunday's game against Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts:

Rookie QB Ryan Tannehill is still wearing a brace and compression sleeve over his left knee, but he took all of the snaps with the starting offense in the portion of Thursday’s practice that was open to the media.

Tannehill is still clearly favoring his knee, but it doesn’t appear to be anything that will keep him out of Sunday’s game against the Colts. He showed good mobility on Thursday, both in dropping back from under center and in rolling out of the pocket, and had a few nice throws on the run.

I don't know about you, but I'm excited to see the clash of the rookie quarterbacks go down. For my money, Luck is still a bit advanced beyond Tannehill as a quarterback, but the young Miami quarterback has earned plenty of admirers on the season.

It should be fun to see, if Tannehill does indeed play.

UPDATE: Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 3:45 p.m. ET by Tim Daniels

Tannehill is doing everything in his power to make sure he's ready for action when the Dolphins take on the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, but stopped short of guaranteeing he will be available, according to the team's official Twitter feed.

Backup Matt Moore was solid in relief of the rookie quarterback last week, so the Dolphins wouldn't be totally doomed if Tannehill was unable to go. That said, it at least sounds like he's trending in the right direction with a few more days to heal.

UPDATE: Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 2:12 p.m. ET by Brandon Galvin

Good news for Dolphins fans as rookie star QB Ryan Tannehill is evidently progressing as he was a limited participant in practice today, according to ESPN's James Walker.

The good news is Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback practiced on Wednesday.

The bad news is Tannehill was limited due to his left knee and quad injury.

The Miami Herald reports Tannehill split time under center Wednesday with backup quarterback Matt Moore during the open session of practice. The Dolphins probably won’t know Tannehill's status until later in the week.

On Sunday Tannehill sounded optimistic about returning for Miami’s next game against the Indianapolis Colts. He said he hyperextended his knee and suffered a bruised quad.

UPDATE: Sunday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. ET by Ben Chodos

Ryan Tannehill described his injury as a hyperextended left knee and a deep thigh bruise and will continue to undergo evaluation before a timetable for his return is set.

The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reported the news regarding the rookie quarterback's injury, also noting that he will have an MRI on Monday.

The Dolphins will have more information on his health after this test and his teammates will certainly hope to have him back next week against the Indianapolis Colts as they try to extend their three-game winning streak.

UPDATE: Sunday, Oct. 28 at 4:50 p.m. ET by Ben Chodos

Ryan Tannehill's leg injury is reportedly a bruised quad.

Pro Football Talk noted the injury via Twitter and that the rookie quarterback's condition going forward remains uncertain.

Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post spoke with Tannehill after the game and he confirmed the injury:

Matt Moore finished the game after Tannehill left, and completed 11-of-19 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown and the Dolphins clobbered the New York Jets 30-9.

UPDATE: Sunday, Oct. 28 at 1:45 p.m. ET by Donald Wood

With Ryan Tannehill’s quad injury scaring Miami fans and Dolphins’ officials alike, the latest update is not good news for a possible prognosis.

Ben Volin of The Palm Beach Post is reporting on the latest injury update for Tannehill:

This is far from definitive, but the fact that Moore is still in the game and Tannehill is struggling on the sidelines is not a positive sign for his availability for the rest of Week 8.

---End of Update---

Dolphins backup Matt Moore entered the game and will continue to play for the rookie if he is unable to return.

This is bad news for Miami, who was hoping to continue adding to the foundation that Tannehill and the coaching staff had been building for the young star. With no turnovers in the last two games, the Dolphins had turned the corner with the rookie’s acclimation to the NFL.

We will have more updates on Tannehill’s status as the day progresses. Check back for more.
