Forget the Rebuilding Season, Can The Kansas Jayhawks Make the Final Four?

Before Big XII play, I would have never thought that the Jayhawks would even make the Sweet 16. But after this 11-1 record in conference, I along with other Jayhawk fans are wondering, "could the "Baby Hawks" make the Final Four?

I know it still sounds far-fetched, but hear me out on this one.

The Jayhawks have one of the top five guards in the nation in Sherron Collins, who has experience in the Final Four.

They also have one of the best big-man in Cole Aldrich, who also knows how to get it done on the big stage.

One of the reasons a lot of people don't think the Jayhawks can get there is because of lack of experience. This could be an issue, but a lot of these freshmen have played in championship games, and know how to play under pressure.

I'm not to mention the 'Hawks have one of the best coaches in the nation as well.

Sherron Collins most likely will try to declare for the NBA draft at the end of this season. I have a hunch that Cole Aldrich will stay for one more year and then declare after his junior year.

I truthfully believe that this team is just as talented as last year. They are just as good if not better down low with Aldrich, and Collins is as gifted as Brandon Rush and Mario Chalmers. Personally I think Collins might be even better.

Tyshawn Taylor has developed to be a very good point guard. The Morris brothers have improved a lot since the beginning of the year and have become a force.

Mario Little has added some offensive presence, and Brady Morningstar has become a very solid guard. Morningstar has been one of the biggest surprises this season in the Big XII.

So what I'm trying to get across to you is that this Jayhawk team is just as good as any. The only downer is lack of experience but I have a feeling that Coach Self and the rest of the coaching staff can keep that under control.

So don't be too surprised if the Kansas Jayhawks make a great push for the Final Four.

I know you guys probably think I'm totally nuts, but I seriously think this Jayhawk team is one of the best I've seen.
