St Louis Rams: Tuesday's Rams News and Notes at Noon

Shane GrayJun 2, 2018

Welcome to Tuesday's St. Louis Rams "News and Notes at Noon", the one stop spot for all major Rams headlines and other updates of interest to Rams Nation.

Is Albert Haynesworth a Possibility in St. Louis?

According to the following tweet from Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network, the Rams could potentially take a look at veteran defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, who played for Jeff Fisher in Tennessee and excelled under his watch:

he may get a looksee from the Rams.

"

The 30-year-old Haynesworth is a two-time first team All Pro (2007 and 2008 under Fisher) but has struggled over the last two seasons in stints with the Washington Redskins, New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers

St. Louis appears to be in good shape at defensive tackle after signing Walter Football's fourth ranked free agent DT (Kendall Langford), adding run-stuffing 26-year-old Trevor Laws from the Philadelphia Eagles and drafting Michael Brockers of LSU in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft

Depth at the position includes Jermelle Cudjo and Darell Scott.

If the Rams bring him in for a look and ultimately sign him (either are far from a sure thing), he would likely come cheaply and could theoretically be a solid addition to the interior line rotation.

If nothing else, he brings exceptional size to the position at 6'6 and 350 pounds. However, at this point, teams must decide if he is worth the potential distractions that he can bring to a team.

Former NBA Star's Son Trying To Catch on With the Rams

According to an article by Dan O'Neill of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Travis Tripucka dreamed of becoming a basketball star at the University of Notre Dame and an NBA player like his father, Kelly.

In the end, however, Travis chose the University of Massachusetts and the sport of lacrosse. While there, though, he become a long snapper for the Minutemen football team.

Travis is now trying to become the long snapper for St. Louis, saying this:

"

"Hey, if the opportunity is there, I'm going to tackle it head on."

"

Looking at Jason Smith's Past, Present and Future

According to a column by Aaron Hooks at stlouis.sbnation.com, 2012 is Jason Smith's last chance to make an impact in St. Louis.

Hooks looks at Smith's NFL career to date and the aspect of timing related to his concussion history and his rookie contract, among other things, in the aforementioned column.

Smith will have every chance in the world to look down the right tackle spot this season and appears to be making some progress under new offensive line coach Paul Boudreau.
