St. Louis Rams: Tuesday's News and Notes at Noon

Shane GrayJun 7, 2018

Welcome to Tuesday's St. Louis Rams "News and Notes at Noon", the one-stop destination for all major Rams headlines, related commentary and other items of interest.

St. Louis Rams Free Agency Update

According to the following tweet from Paul Kuharsky of ESPN, New Orleans Saints cornerback Tracy Porter expects to visit St. Louis:

If the Rams were to land Porter after signing fellow corner Cortland Finnegan, you could almost certainly eliminate Morris Claiborne from consideration for the Rams' sixth pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

After signing defensive tackle/end Kendall Langford late last week, releasing defensive tackles Fred Robbins and Justin Bannan, and letting older veterans like CJ Ah You hit the free agent market, the Rams are on the way to fielding a much younger defensive line.

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch details this and shares quotes from Langford and center Scott Wells, who also landed with the Rams in free agency in regard to their thoughts on signing here.

2012 NFL Mock Drafts

With the draft quickly approaching, the interest in mock drafts throughout Rams Nation and the NFL at large is ever-increasing.

Some of the latest and greatest come from Rob Rang of CBS Sports, Mel Kiper of ESPN and Matt Miller of Bleacher Report.

Rang has St. Louis selecting cornerback Morris Claiborne with the sixth overall pick whereas Miller has the Rams reeling in wide receiver Justin Blackmon.

According to Turf Show Times and their report on Kiper's mock, the Rams could very well trade down again. However, if they stay at No. 6 they will select the aforementioned Claiborne.

In case you missed it, I evaluated the options available for the Rams at No. 6 in my column yesterday available here

After the finalization of the Peyton Manning contract with the Denver Broncos, as confirmed by Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network, the ever-popular and playoff-winning quarterback Tim Tebow is now on the market.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk names the Rams as one of 10 off-the-radar options for Tebow. He asserts that Tebow would help efforts by the ticket office at the Edward Jones Dome.

Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch asserts correctly (in my view) that St. Louis should say no to Tim Tebow and details why in this piece.

Have a great day, St. Louis Rams Nation. Thanks for checking in.
