2012 NFL Mock Draft: Riley Reiff Becoming the Buffalo Bills' No. 1 Option?

Zach KruseJun 7, 2018

When the Buffalo Bills completed their sales job on defensive end Mario Williams, it allowed the team to cross off its biggest need heading into the 2012 NFL draft.

While a pass-rusher may still be in play for the Bills at No. 10 overall, Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News thinks offensive tackle is now "the likeliest option" and that Iowa's Reily Reiff is the current front-runner.

"

This shapes up as the likeliest option in the first round of the draft. By shoring up the left tackle position, the Bills potentially could boast the best offensive line in the AFC East...However, the Bills could have a shot at the second best tackle and surely could get the third best tackle.

The Bills may still lose tackle Demetrius Bell, who is a free agent and has visited several teams in hopes of finding a better deal. If Bell walks, the Bills will almost certainly need to find a player at tackle in the draft.

The top tackle in the 2012 class is undoubtedly Matt Kalil, but he's not likely to fall outside of the first eight picks. That leaves Reiff as the best option remaining for the Bills at No. 10.

While a tackle makes a lot of sense for Buffalo, so does another pass-rusher. The Bills' flirtation with Mark Anderson proves that the front office still wants to add more pressure on the defensive line.

After a tackle and a pass-rusher, Gaughan (in order) lists receiver, cornerback, linebacker and safety as other options for the Bills.
