2012 NFL Mock Draft: Colts Foolishly Select Robert Griffin III over Andrew Luck
Baylor's Robert Griffin III is an electric young quarterback that might have a bright future in the NFL, but the Indianapolis Colts would be foolish to select him over Andrew Luck out of Stanford, the best quarterback in the draft.
That's exactly what Jim Irsay decided to do in my latest mock draft, however.
Don't think it couldn't happen, either.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Jim Irsay has stated that he will take a quarterback with the No. 1 overall selection of the 2012 NFL draft, and it will either be Luck or Griffin.
Additionally, RG3 has come out and said he's gunning for the top spot, and he wants to play in Indy next year. He is stoked about Irsay's recent comments, saying:
"It's every kid's dream. Every kid wants to be the first pick in the draft. I wouldn't say no to it. I'm glad he at least put me in that conversation and hasn't already made it a foregone conclusion that he's going with Andrew, like a lot of people have.
"
It isn't a foregone conclusion by a long shot.
Irsay is calling all the shots since he fired long-time general manager for the Colts, Bill Polian, and if Jerry Jones and the late, great Al Davis proved anything, it's that owners sometimes make terrible personnel decisions for their teams.
I see Irsay becoming enticed by the hype that surrounds Griffin as the draft grows nearer. Griffin will likely blow us away at the combine with his athleticism, strong arm and speed. Irsay might decide to forget about Luck's proven track record and near-perfect mechanics as he falls in love with Griffin.
