Feb 17, 2008: Who Cares About NASCAR?

Daytona 500 Race is Today, Starts at 3:40 PM Eastern Time on FOX

Honestly? I really could care less about NASCAR. There are much better things I can do with my time other than watch cars make hundreds of left turns and pass each other.

There seems to be a lot of hype this year with Dale Earnhardt Jr. driving the new AMP car, that is about all I know about racing other than the occasional NASCAR blip on SportsCenter.

Early reports say that there were 100 people waiting in line to get the new line of clothes that Earnhardt Jr. has released through Adidas.

A lady was quoted saying that she had already seen Jr. She had been stalking him all week. But seriously? Don't you have better things to do with your time than stalk a racer?

Yahoo! has plenty of coverage here for all you racing fans.

Super Bowl Champion 19-0 Patriots Clothing Donated to Nicaraguan Kids

I have better idea for those children in Nicaragua who received some 290 hats and shirts saying that the Patriots had gone 19-0 and won the Super Bowl.

Find a computer, list it on eBay and watch the price of it shoot straight up in the air.

Don't wear those clothing items you just received, sell them.

I think that one in 290 could fetch at least several hundred US dollars if not several thousand US dollars. They could buy lots of clothes and lots of food for their families with that.

Though, it was a generous thing for the NFL to do instead of just dumping them in a dumpster somewhere.

Congratulations to Dwight Howard for Winning the NBA All-Star Dunk Contest 2008

A self alley oop? Putting it off the back of the glass and then dunking it? A superman costume?

No wonder this guy won the NBA dunk contest.

Much more entertaining of an event this year than in year's past.

Highlight for me was when Gerald Green had a cupcake with a candle in it lit, when he dunked, he blew out the candle.

Simply brilliant.

Though one of the worst parts of the night had to have been Rudy Gay's hyped YouTube contest for the dunks he would perform at the contest. All of the dunks lacked luster and it is not surprising that he did not make it past the first round with that kind of performance.
