NFL Power Rankings Week 14: Ranking the Top Andrew Luck Contenders

Zach KruseDec 5, 2011

The race to the bottom in the NFL is almost over, and the Andrew Luck sweepstakes has a clear and obvious leader through 13 weeks of the NFL season.

While the Indianapolis Colts are out in front, the following are the top four teams in the Luck sweepstakes, according to our Week 14 power rankings.

1. Indianapolis Colts

With four games to play, the Colts are the runaway leaders to obtain the No. 1 pick. At 0-12, Indy doesn't have much of a chance in its next three games (Baltimore, Tennessee and Houston), and only Jacksonville in Week 17 looks like a winnable contest.

If 1-15 if the best-case scenario, the Colts have the Andrew Luck sweepstakes locked up.

2. St. Louis Rams

If any team in the NFL has a chance to get the No. 1 pick over the Colts, it might be the Rams.

St. Louis has games with Seattle, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and San Francisco left on the schedule, and that could mean a 2-14 season. If the Colts somehow find a way to win a couple of games, the Rams could find themselves sitting with the top pick.

At that point, what would they do? Take trade offers? Take Luck and trade him? Keep him and deal Sam Bradford?

3. Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings continue to invent ways to lose games. They've lost more games this season in different ways than any team in the last handful of years.

The schedule doesn't offer much hope, either, as Minnesota has Detroit, New Orleans, Washington and Chicago left. 3-13 looks like a real possibility, but that won't be bad enough for the Vikes to have a chance at getting the No. 1 pick.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jags have a boatload of problems with their franchise, as a new coach and owner are taking over and their rookie quarterback looks more like an undrafted free agent than a No. 10 overall pick.

Still, the Jags already have three wins, and it's not out of realm of possibility for them to get to four or five. A top five pick is in their future, but not the No. 1 selection.ย
