This year, the Cowboys will host their perennial Thanksgiving game (tomorrow) against the Miami Dolphins.
Both teams enter this game on three game winning streaks.
Strangely enough, the Dolphins were in the Andrew Luck race just a month ago, while the Cowboys continue to face questions about their season.
This game serves as a classic trap game for Dallas as the Cowboys look towards a daunting December schedule.
For the Dolphins, this game is about pride and the opportunity to show the entire nation on national television that they are not a laughingstock.
Here are three factors to look for in this pivotal game for the Cowboys:
Reggie Bush
While he was a member of the Saints, Reggie always found a way to have an impact against the Cowboys. Look for that to happen again, especially with the productive way that they have begun to use them in the run game.
Tony Romo
Expect Tony to continue his impressive November run with another big game this month. Romo might have played the best game of his career five years ago on Thanksgiving against the Buccaneers.
Dallas defense
After an embarrassing effort against the Redskins, the Dallas defense and Rob Ryan need to revert back to their Bills performance and get down to business.
The defense cannot keep relying on the offense to carry them to victory.
Against far superior December opponents, the defense cannot continue their lackluster effort.
This week, look for the Dallas defense to feast on the ‘Fins this Thanksgiving.
There should be plenty of opportunities for the defense to fire up their annual Turkey Dance after any big defensive plays.
I am watching you, DeMarcus.
Final Thoughts
Expect Tony Romo to continue his November domination and lead the Cowboys to another victory, 31-14.
This game will have a Detroit start (compliments of Dez catching at least one touchdown), then a Redskins scare (the defense collapsing), but ultimately it will be a solid victory against a subpar opponent.
Jason Witten will turn in another great performance, while the defense will be displaying their famous Turkey Dance.
