2012 NFL Draft: Andrew Luck's Ideal Team Won't Suck Enough to Take Him

Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck has been the consensus No. 1 player in the 2012 NFL Draft from the second he announced his intentions to return to school last January.

Virtually every NFL team wants him, but only one can get him. While he doesn't have any say in where he goes, he does know where he wants to go.

On ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown, Steve Young  asked Luck where he would like to play if he had a choice. 

“Whatever team relocates to Morgantown, West Virginia," Luck said, "where my parents live.”

The closest team to Morgantown happens to be a team in desperate need of a quarterback: the Washington Redskins. Despite the team's early-season success, they are finding that life is tough when Rex Grossman and John Beck are leading the offense.

Luck was making a tongue-in-cheek statement, obviously, but it would still be fun to see how many teams would consider relocating if it meant that they had a better chance to get Luck to spurn whatever team drafts him and force a trade to Morgantown. 

The only problem with the Redskins is that they started out the season 3-1, which means it will take a small miracle for them to fall down enough to get in contention with the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts and St. Louis Rams. 

Of course, the Suck for Luck campaign has been going strong all season, and considering the way he led the Cardinal to victory on Saturday night against USC, the battle for futility will get even more intense. 

The Redskins will be kicking themselves for not losing some of those games earlier in the season, because they have already missed out on their chance for Luck. 

There hasn't been an NFL quarterback prospect like Luck since Elway in 1983, and he has a lot to live up to. The good news is that he has yet to buckle under the pressure.
