Tim Tebow: Why Broncos QB Should Be Giving LeBron James Advice

Eric BallOct 24, 2011

LeBron James wishes he were Tim Tebow.

The Miami Heat superstar has taken a liking to the Denver Broncos starting quarterback. He defended him when all of the ESPN experts were ripping him back in August, and now he is tracking Tebowโ€™s progression.ย

James was one of the millions of people that had a comment on the absurd 15-point comeback Tebow orchestrated in Denverโ€™s 18-15 OT win Sunday.

Hereโ€™s the tweet James sent out shortly after the miraculous performance:

Anything wrong with this?

Oh, yeah, James doesnโ€™t know much about winning.

If anything, these two athletes are polar opposites.

Nobody represents the beauty and skill of a basketball player like LeBron James. His numbers are terrific, he throws down highlight-reel dunks routinely and is physically the most feared player in the NBA.

Yet, the gigantic elephant in the room is James' inability to win when it counts. James hasn't won a championship since high school and his epic fourth quarter choke jobs in the โ€™11 NBA Finals is still fresh in the mind of sports fans.

On the other hand, there is Tebow, a guy that isnโ€™t going to "wow" you with stats. In fact, itโ€™s unbearable to watch the quarterback at times.

He is never going to put up the sort of numbers of a Tom Brady or a Aaron Rodgers. None of it matters to Tebow ,though. He has been a winner throughout his career, and somehow, some way, finds a way to get more points on the board than his opponent more often than not.

Scrappy is a perfect description for Tebow. That adjective couldnโ€™t be further from the truth for James

So, when James is calling Tebow a winner, an outburst of jokes on Twitter commenced ripping James left and right.

Tebow should be the one giving out the advice on winning; James can give the advice on how to look good.

Which begs the question: Would you rather be the best player in your respective sport? Or would you rather have the most horrendous form and mechanics ever, but win lots of game?

Itโ€™s a debate where most people would likely say winning.

Let Tebow give out the advice LeBron, stick to playing in pointless exhibition games.ย
