NFL Power Rankings: Oakland Raiders Plummet Because of QB Woes

Carson Palmer and Kyle Boller were terrible in Oakland's humiliating 28-0 loss Sunday, and their ineptitude is why the Raiders will be plummeting in the Week 8 power rankings.

Everyone knew Oakland was in trouble when Jason Campbell went down, but I don't know if anyone thought it would be this bad.

Boller started the game but was replaced after throwing three first-half interceptions, one of which got returned for a touchdown.

Palmer was equally miserable, throwing three interceptions and a pick-six of his own.

Kansas City signal caller Matt Cassel played like crap on Sunday, but his quarterback rating (38.3) was still almost higher than Boller's (22.3) and Palmer's (17.3) combined.

Basically, there isn't a word in the English language that can properly convey how awful they really were.

All of this has to be devastating for Raiders fans, who thought this was finally their year. Unfortunately, all that early-season success is meaningless now.

Despite its winning record, Oakland finds itself beyond the 2-4 Philadelphia Eagles and 2-5 Carolina Panthers in my Week 8 power rankings.
