NFL Predictions Week 6: Insanely Accurate Predictions for Every Game
Behold the winners for every Week 6 NFL game. You may doubt my accuracy, but my track record is sterling. I had not missed a pick until last week.
...Of course, last week was the first week I predicted the games, but let's not bicker and argue about details.
Here's the facts: My record is 8-4. That is not bad, but it's well below my lofty and perfect expectations. I will be better this week.
Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are one of the season's biggest disappointments. While Cam Newton may be the season's biggest surprises.
That said, the Falcons still have some talent, and they remain tough at home. They will do just enough on offense while forcing Cam Newton into a couple of costly mistakes.
Prediction: Falcons 24-20
Indianapolis Colts at Cincinnati Bengals
The Colts offense is rejuvenated under QB Curtis Painter. They have progressed to the point of being competent.
However, Painter will be facing a tough Bengals defense this week, and the weak Colts defense will provide a fertile producing ground for the Bengals young offense.
Prediction: Bengals 20-17
San Francisco 49ers at Detroit Lions
The 49ers defense is turning into one of the NFL's elite units. It has them off to a sterling start. However, this is still a very suspect offense.
They will be taking on an undefeated Lions team that is trying to rebound on a short week. I expect a close game, but ultimately Calvin Johnson will prove to be too much.
Prediction: Lions 23-17
St. Louis Rams at Green Bay Packers
What can you say about this one? This: the Packers are the NFL's best team and the Rams the worst.
Prediction: Packers 38, 17
Buffalo Bills at New York Giants
The Giants defense is very vulnerable if their defensive line cannot dominate. The Bills quick strike offense makes it tough to get pressure on the QB, and their excellent running game keeps defenses more than honest. The Bills will outscore the Giants.
Prediction: Bills 31, 27
Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers
All of a sudden the Steelers defense doesn't look old and slow anymore. And they certainly won't in this one against a one-dimensional Jaguars offense.
Prediction: Steelers 28, Jaguars 17
Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins
People keep expecting the Eagles to turn it around while ignoring the fact that this team simply isn't very good.
The Redskins are going to run all over the Eagles while their excellent defense wreaks havoc on a poor Eagles offensive line.
Prediction: Redskins 24, 17
Cleveland Browns at Oakland Raiders
The Raiders are coming off of a huge emotional win, while the Browns are coming off of a bye. I wouldn't expect an emotional let down in this as the Raiders will make the Browns look more rusty than rested.
Expect a huge day from Darren McFadden.
Prediction: Raiders 27, 20
Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens
The Texans were battered and bruised against the Raiders. This is not a good way to enter a game with the physical Ravens.
I expect a solid game until the Ravens pull away late.
Prediction: Ravens 28, 17
Dallas Cowboys at New England Patriots
As the week has gone on, more and more people are picking the Cowboys for an upset special. They see a tough Cowboys defense holding up the Patriots enough for their passing game to exploit a weak Patriots secondary.
I think it will be a good game, but the Cowboys are not going to win.
Prediction: Patriots 31, 27
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay is falling apart before our eyes. They were destroyed last week in a performance that elicited the coach killing "quit" word.
There is no way they get this thing turned around quick enough to handle the mighty Saints.
Prediction: Saints 35, 13
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears
Minnesota is coming off of an impressive victory. The Bears are coming off a loss where they were flat beat up.
The Bears offensive line is in shambles and their run defense is suspect. That will cost them in this one.
Prediction: Vikings 24, 20
Miami Dolphins at New York Jets
The Jets are reeling with three straight losses. The Dolphins, however, are just plain awful. They have yet to win a game this year, and they don't really seem to be getting any better in the process.
Look for the Jets to get back to their winning ways, and start to reestablish their run game.
Prediction: Jets 27, 13
