The inevitable has finally happened. Tim Tebow has been named the starter in Denver. Broncos fans may rejoice!

The heavens have opened. Angels are sounding their trumpets. Super Bowl Championships are surely in the near future.

Probably not.

The fact is, Tim Tebow probably won't be the savior of the franchise that many in the Rocky Mountain state hope for. However, he just may be the shot in the arm that your fantasy football team needs.

Tebow presents a real threat to NFL defenses because he can move the ball with his legs. In his young career, Tebow averages 5.3 yards per carry and has already scored seven rushing touchdowns in limited duty. This strength makes up for his less than stellar passing stats, producing a legitimate QB2 with QB1 upside.

Now that he is taking the reigns of the Broncos offense for what should be the remainder of the season, look for Tebow to easily put up double-digit fantasy numbers every week in standard scoring leagues.

If you are weak at quarterback, or just need to upgrade your backup, Tim Tebow is a no-brainer waiver pickup this week. There are several starting quarterbacks Tebow should be ranked ahead of for the remainder of the season. These include, but are not limited to:

Rex Grossman, Kevin Kolb, Mark Sanchez, Alex Smith, Sam Bradford, Jason Campbell, Colt McCoy, Donovan McNabb, Andy Dalton, Matt Moore, Curtis Painter and Blaine Gabbert

Odds are many of you have one or more of these players on your roster. Do yourself a favor and pick up Tebow if you can. It's worth the risk.

He may not be the savior of the franchise, but he has the potential to be fantasy gold!
