Kyle Orton Trade Rumors: Should Denver Broncos Trade QB to Miami?
Personally, I think Orton gives the Broncos a better chance to win right now, but there is too much of a schism in the Broncos locker room and it's time to give the kid a chance to see what he can do.
Do I like Tebow's throwing mechanics? No. Do I think his "winner" label from college means anything in the NFL? No.
But the Broncos have invested in Tebow, and the only way to figure out what they really have is to push all their chips to the middle of the table and ride Tebow the rest of the way.
After rumors of an Orton to Miami trade surfaced over the summer, there has been an obvious divide among the Broncos' players and coaching staff. This is certainly not an easy situation to deal with, as quarterback controversies are among the biggest killers of NFL teams.
Tebow was decent in the three games he started last year, completing 50 percent of his passes for 654 yards and five touchdowns. He also threw three interceptions.
His numbers over the next couple games won't blow anybody away, but I think he can be fairly successful. Franky, the Broncos have plenty of issues (that defense is horrid) and it probably won't make a huge difference who's under center this year.
They need to get rid of Orton and start Tebow the rest of the way, with their eyes on the future rather than the present.
