The NFL is nothing if not competitive on a week-to-week basis. The phrase "any given Sunday" is more than a cliche in the NFL. It's the truth.

Even still, there are teams that have little chance to win their games headed into a certain week. This week, the following three teams head into their games well behind the eight ball.

Kansas City Chiefs

In a game that may very well set football back, the Chiefs take on the Colts in Week 5. Both teams have to look at this game as a chance to get a rare victory, but it will be the Colts, not the Chiefs, that come home with a win.

Don't look now, but Curtis Painter has looked surprisingly competent at quarterback of late and the Colts have found a way to be competitive in their last two games.

At home against a weak team in the Chiefs, the Colts will get their first win of the season.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars got a close win in Week 1 over the Tennessee Titans, but that might end up being the high point of their season with the way things have gone since that day.

In Week 5, they take on the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals aren't world-beaters in any way, but they are a team trending upward while the Jags are merely treading water.

Their defense has been very good thus far and Andy Dalton is getting better by the day. Look for the Bengals to give their best performance to date in a win this week.

Denver Broncos

The Chargers have been successful this season and that has to be scary for their upcoming opponents. That's not because they have looked great so far. Just the opposite. Teams should be scared because they are 3-1 and they haven't played their best yet.

At some point, San Diego will hit their stride and I think that begins this week against Denver. The Broncos are really struggling and the distractions around that team are aplenty.

The Chargers are the team to beat in the AFC West and they will look the part in their Week 5 win over the Broncos.
