LeBron is at it again. The Cleveland Cavaliers recently came into town and beat up on the Knicks. Before taking the court, he was questioned by the media and answered Yankee related questions. Honestly, I never would have thought he was so knowledgeable about the Yankees. I thought he was just one of those fans who showed up at the games. It’s nice to hear that he cares. haha. Just imagining both Lebron and CC in NY in 2010...it just sounds amazing.
Noted Yankees fan and savior of the NBA LeBron James was in New York on Tuesday and talked to the media masses before destroying the Knicks. Sam Borden of The Journal News was on hand and filed this report:
On the idea of his friend CC Sabathia signing with the Yankees, LeBron said they had not discussed it yet. “It will be good for him, it would be good for the team,” he said. “The Yankees definitely need pitching, especially with Mike Mussina retiring. They need to bulk up their pitching rotation...I know my stuff about the Yankees—they need some pitching, because they have all the offense in the world, and that can help.”
James was also asked why he thinks fans like Jeter more than A-Rod. Interestingly, he didn’t even mention A-Rod at all in his answer, praising only Jeter instead.
“I’m a big fan of Derek Jeter and I like the way he approaches the game every night. It’s not about numbers all the time, sometimes it’s about what you do off the field in his case. He’s been the leader of that team ever since he put on the pinstripes. You could always count on him to be there on and off the field, through rough times, through good times. He’s kind of been that backbone for the last 10 years I guess.” James said.
LeBron sounds like he knows his stuff. Jeter needs to make a call to make sure he helps recruit Sabathia.

Someone else, along with Sir Charles, needs to tell LeBron that he plays basketball in Cleaveland and that he should shut up about New York and the Yankees. Who gives a damn if King James likes the Yankees or how The Captain approaches the game of baseball. PLAY BASKETBALL LeBron... that's what you're supposed to do!

Im a BIG Cleveland fan who lives in GA. I also went to Catholic schools just like "James." Like many people I know in Cleveland, they like both Cleve. & NY I happen to be one of those people, however, there can be better ways to handle the media if NY is his choice in 2010. Who knows, Lebron can be faking everyone out, building the hype, and stay in Cleveland, now that would shock the world. I hope Lebron takes the path of Magic,Bird,Jordan and Kobe and that is stay with one team no matter how big the market is,and that team is Cleveland.I know many folks maybe biting at his ear in NY,lets enjoy the now and be thankful,as sad as it may be,we cant do any thing about it.

The point of this article is? Why is it not okay to like other teams outside of your home town? I have a 19 year old son, who does not hate the Cavs, but just loves the Lakers. So what? The Cleveland Browns are not his favorite football team either. He likes the Cowboys and Chargers. He doesn't hate the Browns and he watches their games, but he prefers the teams I stated above. I myself prefer the University of Cincinnati Bearcats over Ohio State Buckeyes. So what does that say about me? Am I sellout? I don't get the point of your article.

A lot of things come to mind when one sees Lebron and his actions. First off, is it okay for him to be rooting for non-Cleveland teams? Well, I guess he's not breaking any laws by doing so...but it just goes against a social norm. The Celtics when they won the Finals showed up at a Red Sox game to help the city celebrate. Athletes generally realize that they share fans with the other sports teams of the city. So for Lebron to flaunt his love for the Cowboys and Yankees when he knows that his most loyal fans in Cleveland go for the Browns and Indians is a slap in the face and he can't be so dumb to the point where he doesn't realize that. At the same time, if he continues to play the way he's playing AND if he brings a championship to Cleveland no one will care. The main concern is that he is violating social norms which sometimes is as deviant as breaking laws themselves, they just don't have the same consequences.

You guys sit here and talk about how lebron should be able to like any team that he wants but at the sametime do you see bryant going to another citys game and rooting them on. It just doesnt happen can we honestly believe just because you play for a certain city that your only gonna like there teams no but noone else is making it as public as lebron does when he shows how he feels about the yankees. Lets just hope he doesnt have any love for any other new york team specially not the sorry knicks.

I think NY needs to get their own superstar. Stop trying to take ours and sign a good FA or Draft Pick, instead of signing Marbury or Randolph or drafting Nate Robinson. You guys are a disgrace you were a disgrace in the Jordan era! When Starks was getting dunked on by Jordan or lite up by Miller. I can not stand you bum Knicks you guys will never make the league better. Stephen A Smith needs to listen to himself talk sometimes because he needs to put a sock in it! Now to the Yankees you guys are loser's! and that plain and simple highest salary in baseball and cant even make it to the playoffs bums. I hope C.C goes to the Angels!
