Fantasy Football Week 4: 3 Players Bound to Break out of Slumps

Ryan RudnanskySep 28, 2011

Every star hits rough patches every once in a while.

But the true stars find a way to get back on track and put up big numbers for their respective teams.

Through three weeks of the season, several NFL stars have come out flat and had fantasy owners wondering if they are playing with their minds.

Here are three players bound to break out of those slumps and put fantasy owners at ease.

3. Mike Williams, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Last season in his rookie campaign, Mike Williams caught 65 balls for 964 yards and 11 touchdowns. This season, he's caught only 10 balls for 89 yards and a touchdown through three games.

Williams is too talented to struggle for much longer and he goes up against a beatable Colts secondary at home in Week 4. I expect him to finally break out in Week 4.

2. Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Rashard Mendenhall has rushed for just 148 yards and one touchdown this season and is averaging 3.0 yards per carry.

The Texans, however, can be beat on the ground, giving up 4.8 yards per carry this season. The Steelers are a run-heavy offense and will continue to pound the ball inside until they get things right.

Mendenhall had over 1,200 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns last season. He's going to get his opportunities and he should find the end zone in Week 4.

1. Chris Johnson, RB, Tennessee Titans

The Titans need Chris Johnson to step up more than ever, now that star receiver Kenny Britt has been lost for the season. Teams will be focused on Johnson, but it's not like that has stopped him from dominating before.

Johnson had over 1,300 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns last season and he's just too good to slump for much longer. He faces the Cleveland Browns in Week 4, a team that can still be beat on the ground, and it would be shocking if he struggled for a fourth straight week.

Don't give up yet, fantasy owners.
