Every sport has to have rules. Otherwise it might be mass chaos.

It just wouldn't work.

But there are some rules that definitely need some changing. Just ask any NFL fan that has been burned by a silly rule that the NFL has.

Calvin Johnson? Been there.

The entire Raiders organization? Been there.

There aren't a ton, but here are five suggestions.

1. Portion One of a "catch"

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - SEPTEMBER 25: (L-R) Titus Young #16, Calvin Johnson #81 and Tony Scheffler #85 of the Detroit Lions celebrate a touchdown by Johnson in the fourth quarter against the Minnesota Vikings on September 25, 2011 at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodom

This is the portion that I've been told is what caused Calvin Johnson's catch to be overruled.

I understand that the rule could be used to say that Johnson's catch was incomplete, but he clearly had control of the ball.

I mean after all, if a player with the ball hits the ground and fumbles, it's not a fumble, so the advantage goes to the offensive player.

Maybe bad reasoning, but I think most of us would agree, apart from Chicago fans, that Calvin caught that ball.

Change the rule!

2. The Tuck Rule

20 Aug 2000: Quarterback Tom Brady #12 of the New England Patriots gets ready to pass the ball while running during the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Foxboro Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The Buccaneers defeated the Patriots 31-21.M

I think all of the Oakland Raiders fans agree with me on this.

If you pull it back to your body, it should be a fumble.

Now, I won't go out on a limb and say that if this doesn't happen, neither does the Patriots championship run, but the reality is, it's a dumb rule.

Change the rule!

3. The Kickoff at the 35

Not that it has affected some kicks being returned for TDs, but seriously?

I know they are trying to protect some players, but this just makes the game a little less exciting. I mean, is there any real reason for this rule? Don't answer that...

Change the rule!

4. Roster Size

I mean, I get it. You don't want to have teams store up really good players. I understand. But the reality is that most of the backups don't do much anyway.

And if there are injuries, how is it fair that a team should suffer for bad luck?

Change the rule!

5. Overtime

ARLINGTON, TX - FEBRUARY 06: The captains, Jarrett Bush #24, Charles Woodson #21, Aaron Rodgers #12, Greg Jennings #85, Mason Crosby #2 and A.J. Hawk #50 of the Green Bay Packers and Heath Miller #83, Hines Ward #86, James Farrior #51 and Keyaron Fox #57

And finally—my least favorite NFL rule.

Although I've never been touched directly by it, I still find the rule dumb. I mean, basically, it's determined by who wins the toss (even with the minor rule change, which helps...a little).

It's a game of pins and needles, not the exciting event it should be.

My solution, like most fans', is to change the NFL rules to match the college rules. It would be exciting, and fantasy players would love it on top of it.

Change the rule!
