Tim Tebow: Why Denver Should Play Him Whenever They Can

Jacqueline KirbyJun 7, 2018

Tim Tebow won two national championships in Florida and is one of the most dedicated players in the league, yet continues to play now third fiddle for the Denver Broncos to QBs Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn.

Coach John Fox needs to utilize the young talent while he can because Tebow is a versatile player and can be great for the organization.

He Helps Out in a Clutch

Today, when the Broncos became plagued with injuries while facing the Cincinnati Bengals, Tebow stepped up to the plate and went to play wide receiver.

Tebow has been catching balls during practice the past few weeks but still has to learn on the job throughout the game. There probably isn't a future for him at wide receiver in Denver, but that's because his real talent is at quarterback, and it's only a matter of time before that works out for Tebow.

Kyle Orton Isn't the Answer

Kyle Orton is a decent quarterback, but he needs to step aside for Tim Tebow to explore his talents. The more playing time Tebow gets the better off he will be.

Last season as a rookie, he only started three games and didn't even get out 100 passes.  However, in those games, he showed a lot of promise and just needs the extra time put in, not in practice but in an actual game.

To Keep the Fans Happy

Denver fans love Tebow.  As long as he is in the game, the fans are happy.  Loud fans and energy are what is going to pump up the team to perform better.

Coach Fox needs to learn keep them happy, something he forgot about in Carolina.

Uncharted Potential

The kid was killer in college. In his four years as a Florida Gator, they were SEC champions twice, national champions twice, he was the NCAA Player of the Year and won the Heisman Trophy.

Not a shabby college career, and it's no doubt the Broncos drafted him with their first pick last year.

The problem is that he hasn't gotten a real chance to showcase his talents.  He most certainly does not belong behind Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn.

Hell, if Tebow is willing to go into a game to play wide receiver just to help the team out, you know he is itching to be on the field and will do what it takes to win. Coach Fox just needs to give him a shot.
