Fantasy Football Rankings Week 1: 3 RBs Guaranteed to Eat Up Yardage

Andrew KulhaSep 11, 2011

If you’re a really good fantasy football owner, chances are you have a few NFL running backs that can just eat up yardage.

Sure, they probably put up a touchdown or two during the game, but their real value comes with how many yards they put on the board for you.

Even on a game they don’t score any touchdowns, if they are putting up 100-plus yards and giving you some reception yards than you are going to be looking pretty good.

Perhaps you even have one of them on your roster without even realizing it!

If that’s the case, take a look at this list and see if you could be holding onto a dangerous running back that will get you a lot of yards.

Adrian Peterson, Vikings

While everybody is talking about Arian Foster and Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson is slowly ready to take off and dominate the NFL.

I think he’s going to have his best NFL season to date, and he’s already had some good ones.

The Vikings are going to give him quite a workload, so he’s going to get a lot of yards under his belt. The good part about Peterson is that he’ll throw in a couple of touchdowns as well.

Danny Woodhead, Patriots

I like the change of pace that Woodhead brings to the Patriots offense, and there is no doubting that he can be a home run hitter.

He can be a threat in the running game, but he’s also made some plays in the air. I think he’s worth taking a shot on in Week 1.

Peyton Hillis, Browns

Hillis going against the Bengals is going to be somewhat of a train wreck.

Not that he’s going to play poorly, but more so because the Bengals defenders are going to feel like they got hit by a train after the game.

I love what this guy brings to the table. He’s good for a touchdown or two a game and he just eats up yardage whenever he gets the ball.
