Madden 12 Player Ratings: The 4 Most Dominant Detroit Lions

Cian FaheyJun 7, 2018

The Detroit Lions look set to challenge in the NFL this year and in a monumental way. They already look like they're becoming a serious force in the NFC, and with enough luck and big performances from certain spots, they could be challenging late in January or even February.

Dominance hasn't been a word associated with Detroit for a long time, but recent additions to the roster as rewards for all those losing seasons have made given the team some pillars to build and rely upon.

Here are the five most dominant Detroit Lions for the coming season according to Madden 12.

Ndamukong Suh

1 of 4

Dominant is probably the only word you can use to describe Ndamukong Suh.

Suh is one of the best defensive players in the game despite only having his rookie season under his belt to this point.

It may be a surprise that Suh is only an 89 overall, but that is likely simply because he only has one season of film for the EA guys to analyze. His 95 strength and tackling ratings, coupled with his 88 acceleration, will see him living in opposing backfields for the coming year.

With 94 block shedding and 93 pursuit, Suh will be all over the field and taking over games on a regular basis.

Calvin Johnson

2 of 4

It is a little insulting to Johnson that he is not ranked as an elite receiver in Madden. At 93, he is on par with Desean Jackson while he is a much greater threat to defenses than Jackson.

Johnson can take over football games in real life, and he will be aided in Madden by his height, which should allow him to compete with any defensive back for any pass thrown his direction and more often than not come down with it.

Johnson's mixture of speed and size is generally unstoppable in Madden, and there is no reason to believe that that will change this year.

Jahvid Best

3 of 4

The great thing about Jahvid Best in Madden is that, unlike in real life, he isn't punished from having too many carries.

Best is incredibly fast and can be expertly used in both the running game and passing game in Madden. He is vicious in the screen game as he slips through the cracks of defenses to hit home runs from anywhere on the field.

He may not be the typical dominant type of player, but it doesn't matter how you get it done in Madden so long as you get it done, Best can definitely get it done!

Cliff Avril

4 of 4

Surprisingly, Matthew Stafford won't be making an appearance on this list, as the guys over at EA have decided he is only worthy of being an 80 overall.

However, one Lions player that they have not underrated is Cliff Avril who should be a monstrous pass rusher in real life too this year.

Avril is one of the fastest defensive ends in the game with 88 acceleration and 81 speed. Speed is vital on Madden, and it should allow him to flow to the football in the running game and leave offensive tackles in his wake on his way to the quarterback.
