Madden 12 Review: The 4 Most Dynamic Cleveland Browns Player Ratings
The Cleveland Browns have been a franchise in the doldrums as of late. Playing in the tough AFC North has made life hard on the struggling franchise.
However that all appears to be changing as there is a renewed optimism in Cleveland ahead of this season with the potential of Colt McCoy, arrival of Pat Shurmur and an improving defense.
Just like everything else in the world of the NFL, this is reflected by the latest version of Madden.
Here are the five most dynamic players on the Cleveland Browns roster for the coming season according to Madden 12.
Peyton Hillis
1 of 4As the cover athlete of this year's edition of Madden, there is no surprise that Hillis is richly rewarded in his ratings.
A strong season last year has earned Hillis an overall rating of 91. While I don't necessarily agree with his 85 carrying rating, there is no doubting his dynamism or his overall ability to make plays.
His 99 in trucking and toughness could even have been predicted by Josh McDaniels, while his route running (75) and catching (79) ability out of the backfield should make him a beast in screen situations.
Hillis' 92 in awareness will be vital as he uses his 91 acceleration to explode through or around defenders. He may not be incredibly elusive (74) but his 97 in ball-carrying vision will more than make up for that.
Essentially this year's version of Madden gives you Peyton Hillis from last season without the fumbles. Browns fans will be hoping that that is exactly what they get from him this year too.
Joe Haden
2 of 4Joe Haden is one of the most exciting prospects at the cornerback position throughout the whole league. As such he is one of the most highly rated cornerbacks on the new Madden and leads the Browns defensive backs with an 86 overall rating.
Haden's 58 in tackling almost costs him his status as a dynamic player but his ability to play both zone (88) and man coverage (94) expertly, as well as get his hands on the football, prevent him from being left off this list.
His 97 in agility and acceleration will see him jumping many routes while his 93 in jumping will allow him to compete for any balls not thrown accurately.
With 98 in stamina, Haden will be making plays from the first snap to the last in every game of the season.
Josh Cribbs
3 of 4The epitome of dynamism won't be held off this list because of a lowly 79 overall rating.
Cribbs may not have a natural position, although he looks to be becoming a better receiver every time I see him, but he still has some attributes in Madden that will allow him to make plays.
His 96 acceleration and 98 agility will make him impossible to catch in the open field while his 98 in elusiveness and 99 in juke moves and sidestepping will see defenders falling over rather than tackling him.
Cribbs may not be a star receiver but if you can get the ball in his hands, he will do damage whether it be on offense or special teams.
Joe Thomas
4 of 4Really, an offensive lineman being called dynamic? Am I just being lazy and picking the big names rather than delving into the roster? I could have put Montario Hardesty or Brian Robiskie on this list but why can't Joe Thomas be dynamic?
What about Thomas' game isn't dynamic?
Let's take a look. Is it his pass blocking at 94? Or his run blocking at 96? How about his strength being 92 and his awareness being 88? Maybe it's the fact that his impact blocking is 97 while his strength and footwork in each facet of the game is over 90?
The fact is, Thomas is only not considered dynamic because of the position he plays. However what is more dynamic than a player that impacts both parts of the offense by excelling in both elements of the game.
He is one of the most physically gifted players in the league, combining great agility and strength. Thomas is one of the most dynamic performers in the league and on the Browns' roster.
