Harrelson's strikeout call, as well as other trademark phrases and antics of his, mildly assuaged the pain felt by White Sox fans as they dropped below .500 again.
Through the lows and moderate highs of the 2011 White Sox, Harrelson can lay some claim to carrying White Sox fans through the muck that the season has been.
Harrelson has been, at best, wildly entertaining to hometown viewers. At worst, he has been an annoying humbug for both White Sox fans and fans of other teams.
Through every retelling of his innovation of the batting glove and crooning, "That's a Matt Abbatacola," at broken-bat base hits, he further etches himself into White Sox lore and baseball broadcasting history.
