One week down and three more to go until the beginning of one of the most highly-anticipated NFL seasons.

The Philadelphia Eagles were just a Michael Vick ankle injury away from playing in the NFC Championship game last season.

That didn't stop Andy Reid and the Eagles from going out and grabbing nearly every big name free-agent possible.

Now, it's time to put up or shut up, and here I will give you five bold predictions on how the Eagles will fare.

Mike Vick Will Throw for 4,000 Yards and Also Win League MVP Honors

Michael Vick will throw for 4,000 yards and win the NFL MVP award.

Yes, Michael Vick will pick up right were he left off last season and will throw for over 4,000 yards. This year will be Mike Vick's finest year as a passer, and he will also get it done with his legs as well.

With all the work he has put in with Andy Reid this year, teams will be burnt big time for trying to blitz the house. Michael Vick will make them pay for this by producing big plays.

DeSean Jackson Will Have a Historic Season

DeSean Jackson will show everyone again why he deserves to be paid a lot more than what he has been making.

Jackson will be Vick's favorite target and will continue to give defenses nightmares.

With the addition of Steve Smith to join Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Jason Avant, it will make it hard for defenses to keep a safety over the top, which is one reason Jackson will put up monster numbers this season.

Look for Jackson to be open pretty much the whole year. Can you see him down the field? Look, he's open.

The Eagles Will Have the No. 1 Defense in the League

The Eagles will turn their lackluster defense from a year ago into a fine-tuned machine.

This year's defense will be like night and day compared to that of last year. This season, the Eagles will be a lot faster and also more athletic.

The Eagles will generate so much pressure from its front four that it will be a nightmare for teams to try to pass.

That scenario sets up my next prediction.

The Eagles Will Have One of the Best Secondaries Ever and Lead the NFL in Picks

Teams will be forced to throw, and when they do there will be a whole lot of picks for the Eagles secondary.

Teams will often have absolutely nowhere to throw the ball, which will generate sacks, fumbles and, oh yeah, interceptions.

The Eagles secondary, highlighted by Nnamdi Asomugha, Dominique-Rodgers Cromartie and Asante Samuel, will lead the league in interceptions.

The Philadelphia Eagles Will Win the Super Bowl

Punch your ticket Philly fans, the Philadelphia Eagles will have a season to remember and will top it off with a long-awaited Super Bowl victory.

This will be the year that Andy Reid finally gets over the hump and gets that elusive victory that has slipped away for his whole tenure as head coach of the Eagles.

There you have it, the Philadelphia Eagles will win the Super Bowl this season.
