Dear Rick Spielman and whomever else this may concern,

I am writing you this letter pleading that you will start to make smarter moves for this franchise.

As Minnesota Vikings fans, we've been through a lot of pain and suffering, and I am sure you can relate. It pains me to see a talent like Sidney Rice just fly out of Minnesota for greener pastures with the Seattle Seahawks; how could you let him, Rick?

I understand money is a big issue, and I understand we need to think about the future, but honestly, I am sick of thinking about the future.

Mr. Spielman, we have never won a Super Bowl. Let me repeat that: We have never, ever, ever won. Yes, we were close in 1998, and I could even smell it in 2009, but Rick, when are we going to do it?

Please, please start making smarter moves. You did a fantastic job revamping the coaching staff this offseason, and I really hope Leslie Frazier is the leader we need, but players win games, Rick.

I beg of you to sign Adrian Peterson and Chad Greenway to extensions. If you let them go, you will lose the Vikings faithful (and your job), and I just don't know if this franchise could come back from something like that.

We need a No. 1 wide receiver, Rick, and for gosh sakes, can we bring in some secondary help? Tyrell Johnson is clearly not the answer, and our secondary is pitiful; we need someone; anyone!

I really like how you handled the Donovan McNabb trade; kudos on that one, but that can't be our last move, or we will get murdered in 2011.

We are in the hardest division in football, as you know, and we need some serious players because, lets face it: we're Viking fans, and we want to win now.

Peterson isn't getting any younger, and McNabb is finally the quarterback that can win now. We need a receiver and no, Devin Aromashodu does not count. Get rid of Berrian and offer a legitimate deal to a top receiver, and maybe we'll go somewhere. We need a safety, too. Come on already, Rick, the time is now!

I know we have holes to fill, so please, let's try filling them with players who will make plays, not these washed-up backups.

Thank you very much for your time, and I really hope this letter will bring some insight into your future offseason moves. Skol Vikings.
