Michael Lombardi on Twitter has reported that the 49ers are telling people they are out on Asomugha, leaving only Dallas and the New York Jets as the lone contenders.

The family feud between the Ryan brothers should be an interesting one to follow in the coming days, but to be honest, if the Cowboys are as serious as many believe, the Jets have little bargaining power against Jerry Jones and company.

A move to Dallas would really send a message to some of the most recent WR acquisitions like Roy Williams to Chicago and Devin Aromashodu to Minnesota, while also increasing Dallas’ competitive chances within the NFC East.

But a move to New York would also send a message to recently acquired receivers as well, like Chad Ochocinco to the Patriots.

Not to mention the move would make for quite a gruesome-twosome coverage team of Asomugha and Revis and help the Jets seal the deal defensively as a bona-certified elite squad.

The window is rapidly closing which means whoever is the most interested better ante up now before it is too late.

In my opinion, Dallas has a better chance of landing Asomugha than New York, which could be the end result barring any unforeseen dark horse candidate leaping out of the dark at the last minute.

Stay tuned for further developments in this matter.
