NFL Free Agency 2011: Top 5 Reasons Brett Favre Will Return
It is that time of the year again football fans! Camps are finally opening. Trades are starting to fly. Teams are making roster cuts. ESPN is filling up with more and more NFL talk...and yes, Brett Favre is in the headlines come late July.
Shocking, right? Well, it shouldn't be.
The past few years have taught us all to wait until mid to late July for our annual Favre Watch. Well, the clock is ticking once again, and here we are. While most are 100 percent sure Favre is FINALLY done, I beg to differ and offer you a few reasons why Old No. 4 will be on an NFL team in 2011...
It Is in His DNA
1 of 5The man plays football. Love him or hate him, that is what he does. For close to 20 years, he never missed a game. As long as he can still breathe, he can still sling the ball...
NFL Lockout
2 of 5That's right! Blame the NFLĀ Commissioner and the NFLPA! Based on all the chaos the past few months, teams have not been able to plan and organize their agendas for the upcoming season. The way I see it, a veteran who has done this multiple times will be easier to step in and run an offense than a rookie quarterback who never has, which leads me to...
No OTA'S/Mini-Camps
3 of 5Look at that picture. What is the one thing Favre loves more than winning? No, not texting. Skipping the offseason workouts!
Being from Wisconsin, I know that for a fact and, like I pointed out earlier, with the NFL lockout eating up the summer, there was no rush for Brett to do anything. Now that there is some real business to get to, Favre will be a little more interested.
No Other Jobs...But One!
4 of 5Unless I missed it, ESPN and/or NFL Network haven't exactly been begging Favre to leave his tractor and join the broadcast booth. Honestly, as big as a Favre fan as I am, he wouldn't do a very good job wearing the headphones and giving his thoughts, unless he is in his team uniform. Like the title says, the man can do one thing: be the quarterback an NFL team. That's it. Now for the No. 1 reason he will be back...
YOU!
5 of 5Again, I am from Wisconsin, so I have heard it all before. "He is done!" "He is washed up!" "He can't cut it anymore!" "What good is he anymore?"
Guess what folks? I heard that in the early 2000s. Then he led the Packers to the NFC title game, before losing to the NY Giants. Then he was supposed to be done, no longer being able to "bring it." Well, then he led the Jets to an 8-3 record, before tearing his biceps. That was it, right ladies and gentlemen? He was done.
Well, until he had an absolutely near flawless season with the Vikings, again losing in the NFCĀ title game. Now he is coming off aĀ bad season, so he must be done now, right? The man has proved the haters wrong time and time again. He will again and, I have news for all of youāwhen his games are on, you watch.
