Is Vince Young a Perfect Fit for Philadelphia Eagles?
With the selection of Jake Locker in the 2011 NFL Draft, a roster bonus of $4.25 million and a salary of $8.5 million due this season, Vince Young was nothing more than expensive and outdated dead weight for Tennessee, whom released Young earlier today.
With a free-agent market changing by the minute, Young could find himself at home in the toughest sport town in America: Philadelphia.
Despite having a 30-18 record over the course of five seasons, Young is regarded around the league as a bust for his lack of work ethic and poor passing performances. His ability to electrify the football field however, is only surpassed by Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.

Vick, who served for nearly two years in prison for running an illegal gambling and dog fighting operation in Virginia, could serve as Young's ideal mentor, as the two quarterbacks share the same style and encountered the same problems early in their careers. Alongside Vick is head coach Andy Reid, who is highly regarded for his character and sure to be able to give Young the proper guidance needed.
With Vick's dangerous style of play, a good backup quarterback is essential for the Philadelphia Eagles to make a Super Bowl run this year. With Young, Philadelphia does not have to dramatically alter their scheme to accommodate the also mobile backup quarterback.
