Believe it or not, NFL free agency is well underway after a five-month long lock out, but all is good in the world of football.
As teams started to contract free agents Tuesday for potential contracts, none of these can be made official until 6 p.m. Friday.Ā
Here are my predictions for the first eight players to be official signed Friday.Ā

Tarvaris Jackson
1 of 8Many sources have now confirmed that free agent quarterback Tarvaris Jackson has agreed to a contract with the Seattle Seahawks.
The details of the contract is a two-year deal worth $8 million.Ā
Matt Leinart
2 of 8Matt Leinart has yet to agree to any contract offers, but there are several reports indicating that Leinart has been receiving interest from the Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks.
Wouldn't it be something if Pete Carroll and Leinart reunited in Seattle?Ā
Charles Johnson
3 of 8It is been confirmed by ProFootballTalk that the Carolina Panthers will sign defensive end Charles Johnson to a six-year, $76 million contract with a signing bonus of $30 million.Ā
I guess that Panthers really wanted to hold onto Johnson.Ā
Quintin Mikell
4 of 8Former Philadelphia Eagles safety Quintin Mikell has agreed to the principle of signing with the St. Louis Rams.Ā
The deal is reportedly worth $27 million over the course of four years.Ā
Takeo Spikes
5 of 8Multiple sources have been reporting, including the San Diego Union-Tribune that Takeo Spikes will be leaving the San Francisco 49ers and will be signing with the San Diego Chargers.
The length of the contract is said to to be three years.Ā
Ike Taylor

Alex Smith
7 of 8It was believed that Alex Smith was going to sign quickly with the San Francisco 49ers, and it has been confirmed that he's agreed to a one-year deal worth $5 million.
Smith will enter a quarterback battle with rookie Colin Kaepernick.Ā
Santana Moss
8 of 8Santana Moss will not be leaving Washington this offseason after all, as it's been reported that he's agreed to sign a three-year deal worth $15 million.Ā
