Bald heads draw the eyes of others, and these are the 12 most notorious bald heads in baseball history. The MLB has had more than a few bald heads, but these are famous for either the talent of the player, or the trademark baldness.

Bald heads may draw our eyes because the sun reflects off of them, but no matter what the reason, they certainly stick out.

Some writers have said that bald athletes tend to be better than those with hair, and if that were true, these would be the 12 greatest players in MLB history.

Jay Buhner

Jay Buhner was a right fielder for the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners during his career. He was an All-Star and Gold Glover.

Buhner had a shaved head, and his son had more hair on the top of his head when this photo was taken.

There was also a commercial in which Buhner reflected the sun off his bald head to blind batters.

Albert Pujols

Albert Pujols is the first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was the Rookie of the Year and is a three-time MVP. Pujols has dominated baseball over the past ten-and-a-half seasons.

Pujols has had hair at some points in his career, but he has also been bald at least as often. If you're wondering if being bald helps you play baseball, Pujols has the case it does.

Roger Maris

Roger Maris was not bald during his entire career, but the right fielder and two-time MVP of the New York Yankees did go famously bald when he broke the single-season home run record, hitting 61 home runs in 1961.

Raul Ibanez

Currently the left fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies, Raul Ibanez is one of the greatest Seattle Mariners in history.

The 39-year-old Ibanez has had a shaved head for most of his career and has been known as a bald-headed player.

Billy Barnie

Billy Barnie is the only player on this list from the 1800's. Barnie was a catcher and a manager in the MLB.

"Bald Billy" was never a good manager, going 632-810—but he was in the MLB.

Joe Garagiola

Joe Garagiola was a catcher in the majors before he became an announcer and television host.

Garagiola was around baseball for most of his life—just like he was bald for most of his life.

Cal Ripken Jr.

Baseball's "Iron Man" has always had an aged, weathered look mainly due to his lack of hair.

Cal Ripken Jr. broke Lou Gehrig's streak of consecutive games played; and he played all of those games without hair. Maybe being bald really does help?

Cal Ripken Sr. was a coach and manager for the Baltimore Orioles for 36 years. He and his son were both bald during their time in the MLB.

Like father like son, right?

Don Zimmer

Don Zimmer, famous for being thrown to the ground by Pedro Martinez, was a form major leaguer.

Zimmer currently serves as a senior adviser for the Tampa Bay Rays.

Bald Vinny

Bald Vinny is the only fan to make it on this list.

Bald Vinny is actually Vinny Milano, who leads "roll call" for the Bleacher Creatures. He is arguably the most famous fan in baseball, and he also happens to be bald—as his name suggests.

Barry Bonds

Barry Bonds is the most infamous player in MLB history. He holds the record for most career home runs, but his record is marred by his use of PED's.

Whether you like him or not, the fact is: he's bald and famous.

Kevin Youkilis

When I think of a current MLB player who is bald, I immediately think of Kevin Youkilis of the Boston Red Sox.

Youkilis has had that shaved head for a very long time, and he has arguably the most notorious bald head in MLB history.
