NFL Free Agency: Power Ranking the Top 25 Undrafted Free Agents

Tony SantorsaJun 7, 2018

At last—the NFL lockout is finally over and now we can start taking a look at potential free agent signings.

In this slideshow, I am going to rank the top 25 undrafted free agents available. Keep in mind, some of these players may never play a single game in the NFL, but maybe one or even two of these players will end up having a solid career in the NFL.

Without further adieu, here are the top 25 undrafted free agents available.

*Special Note: Some of these players listed may have already agreed to terms on a contract, but none can be official until Tuesday at 10 a.m.*

25. Graig Cooper

1 of 25

Running back Graig Cooper is a fundamentally sound athlete coming out of Miami.

However, Cooper posted a 4.65 40-yard dash time and tore his ACL in 2009 which may stir teams away from him.

24. Pierre Allen

2 of 25

Pierre Allen is a solid pass-rusher coming out of Nebraska.

Allen has a great size as he stands in at 6'4" and weights 275 lbs., but he may have already hit his potential as he's turning 25 in November.

23. Davon Morgan

3 of 25

Davon Morgan is a ball-hawking defensive back out of Virginia Tech.

Morgan snagged five interceptions in 2010 while picking a pass in three straight games.

22. Patrick DiMarco

4 of 25

Fullback Patrick DiMarco out of South Carolina is an amazing lead-blocking fullback that should land a job in the NFL.

DiMarco's biggest downside is that he's not very athletic—almost like a linemen playing fullback.

21. Joe Lefeged

5 of 25

Joe Lefeged is a powerful strong safety out of Rutgers.

Lefeged may be physical but lacks the range to be a productive safety in the NFL.

20. Josh Bynes

6 of 25

Josh Bynes is a solid run-stopping linebacker out of Auburn.

Bynes' biggest weakness is that he is somewhat undersized for the NFL as he's 6'4" and weights 240 lbs.

19. Josh Portis

7 of 25

Josh Portis is a talented and athletic quarterback that bounced around from Florida to Maryland and then ultimately to California (Pennsylvania).

Portis has good NFL bloodlines as he's the cousin of running back Clinton Portis

18. Lester Jean

8 of 25

Wide receiver Lester Jean is a solid wide receiver coming out of Florida Atlantic.

Jean 6'3" and reeled in 64 passes and scored eight touchdowns in 2010.

17. Darren Evans

9 of 25

Running back Darren Evans is an elusive runner that was overshadowed by Ryan Williams during his time at Virginia Tech.

Evans' biggest concern is that he missed all of 2009 due to a torn ACL.

16. Kris O'Dowd

10 of 25

Kris O'Dowd is an experienced three-year starter out of USC.

O'Dowd should gain a lot of interest considering he spent time playing in a pro-style offense in college.

15. Pat Devlin

11 of 25

Pat Devlin is a small scout quarterback coming out of Delaware.

Devlin displayed great accuracy during his time in college but needs to improve his arm strength because he does not appear to be able to make all the NFL throws—he would definitely be a project.

14. Cedric Thornton

12 of 25

Defensive linemen Cedric Thornton is definitely a small-school prospect coming out of Southern Arkansas.

Thornton is a very tough player that delivers a violent blow, but he is rather raw and needs a lot of time to develop into being an NFL player.

13. Jarriel King

13 of 25

Jarriel King is a massive offensive tackle out of South Carolina.

King stands in at 6'5" and weights 325 lbs.

12. Terrence Toliver

14 of 25

Former LSU wide receiver Terrence Toliver made a name for himself as being a playmaking receiver that is extremely clutch.

Toliver has solid hands but does not appear as fast as he really is due to his large strides.

11. David Mims

15 of 25

Offensive tackle David Mims out of Virginia Union is a massive blocker that presents above average foot-work.

Mims may be 6'8" and 335 lbs. but certainly moves well for a guy his size—he may be raw, but has loads of potential.

10. Jeron Johnson

16 of 25

Safety Jeron Johnson is an experienced playmaker coming out of Boise State.

Johnson has great instincts, is physically tough and displays great leadership skills.

9. Mario Harvey

17 of 25

Linebacker Mario Harvey was a tackling machine for Marshall as he racked up 100 tackles in each of the last three seasons.

Harvery is 5'11" and 250 lbs. and has a big upside.

8. Jake Kirkpatrick

18 of 25

Jake Kirkpatrick is the best offensive linemen available out of the undrafted free agents.

Kirkpatrick spent his college years at TCU where he was the team's center and anchored the offensive line tremendously.

7. DeAndre McDaniel

19 of 25

Safety DeAndre McDaniel had a solid career at Clemson as he emerges as one of the team's leaders.

Not only was McDaniel a leader but he was extremely productive and made All-ACC honors.

6. Armon Binns

20 of 25

Armon Binns is a playmaking wide receiver out of Cincinnati that presents a large target due to his 6'3" 205 lbs. frame.

Binns was known for his big plays and deep ball threats during his time at Cincinnati.

5. Martin Parker

21 of 25

Martin Parker is a 300-pound defensive tackle coming out of Richmond.

Parker led all CAA Football defensive tackles with 8.7 tackles per game in 2010.

4. Deunta Williams

22 of 25

Deunta Williams is a fundamentally sound safety coming out of North Carolina.

Williams reads offenses fairly well and has excellent range as he can get from sideline-to-sideline rather quickly.

3. Mark Herzlich

23 of 25

Mark Herzlich may be a cancer survivor, but he's one solid football player.

In fact, I was extremely surprised that Herzlich was not drafted in this year's draft, as I had him penciled in going somewhere in the later rounds of the draft.

The former Boston College Eagle linebacker has all the intangibles to be a productive NFL player.

2. Kendric Burney

24 of 25

Kendric Burney is a solid defensive back prospect coming out of North Carolina and has loads of potential.

Burney is a fundamentally sound athlete and is a tackling machine.

1. Derrick Locke

25 of 25

Derrick Locke was a very durable and productive running back at the University of Kentucky.

Locke's biggest upside is his ability as he has the potential to develop into quite the elusive runner.
