5 NFL Players Who Will Be Traded Midseason and Shake Up the Playoffs
Sometimes the best football moves are the trades made in the middle of the NFL season.
While it may be a bit different for MLB or the NBA, NFL teams still could use a pick-me-up trade in midseason.
Every team needs that one piece to push the team "over the top." Here are five players who could be traded at midseason to help a team make a push.
Albert Haynesworth
1 of 5We'll get the biggest no-brainer out of the way firstāthere's no way Haynesworth lasts another year in Washington.
By midseason, a team or two may knock on Dan Snyder's door in regards to getting the defensive tackle's services at a cheap price.
Haynesworth has proved that he can be an elite lineman when he wants to be, and a move to a new situation could allow the behemoth to perform again.
Larry Fitzgerald
2 of 5A lot of Arizona Cardinals fans won't like me for this slide. The comments section is belowālet out all of your hatred.
Anyway, the fact remains that Fitzgerald can't be totally happy with how business is run in Arizona, and his window of opportunity will soon be closing.
A trade out of the desert could save the two sides from a very nasty breakup through free agency.
Roy Williams
3 of 5This one is a little less hard to fathom, as the Roy Williams-Cowboys marriage has been a turbulent one from the first game.
Williams is making a high salary, and with the new salary cap, only a few teams can afford to take on this hefty contract.
The Cowboy wideout can still contribute in some capacity; look for a team to add him at midseason.
Chris Johnson
4 of 5Again with the big-name player getting traded midseason?
The Titans may feel like their rebuilding efforts could be threatened by Johnson's selfish holdout threats, and after losing a coach and quarterback due to attitude issues, the Titans will be overly careful this time.
A team could really benefit by bringing in Johnson and giving him a nice payday.
DeSean Jackson
5 of 5This is the hardest one to see happening, which is why I put it last for its shock value, but it would make some sense.
Jeremy Maclin is ready to become a No. 1 wideout, and Jackson's contract demands are getting out of handāthe Eagles may well cash in on the young superstar.
Andy Reid loves his draft picks and could let Michael Vick run the offense without Jackson split out wide.
