NFL Free Agent Pickers: Will Buccaneers Really Pull Tiki Barber off Scrap Heap?
If you've ever checked out American Pickers, the cable television show where a couple of Iowa guys go around picking up old rusty relics, then perhaps you can appreciate the latest mind-boggling revelation by the rusted Tiki Barber that his "short list" is down to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Just have two words in reaction to that latest news:
Go Steelers!

Yeah, you've got Tiki, the identical twin brother of cornerback Ronde, puffing his chest and throwing out the possibility that he could land in Buccaneer training camp, if there is to be one at the end of this month, and right now that "if" has a capital I.
The Steelers make sense, the Bucs do not. At least not in this moment in time with Cadillac Williams still on the roster.
Perhaps Mark Dominic and Raheem Morris are infatuated with the American Pickers -- Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz -- and are ready to pull Tiki out of the scrap heap that contains running backs who haven't run through an NFL defense in nearly five years.
Yes, just maybe, Dominic and Morris will turn into "Pickers" and see if they can get Tiki for veteran minimum. That's probably the only way it could make the least bit of sense.
Sure, bring Tiki into Training Camp, if there is one, and see if he melts under the Tampa heat like a M&M on a sidewalk in downtown Tampa.
And there's also the hopeful possibility that if Tiki was at One Buccaneer Place, he'd simply blow out a hamstring.
Best scenario is that the Bucs go ahead and resign Cadillac Williams. An even better scenario would be to find a free agent running back who would make a lot more sense than Tiki Barber.
If you're going to do some "picking" get a relic with a lot less mileage and rust.
